Shopping Our Stash has a fabulously awesome challenge, Gingham Style - use checkers, checks or squares on your project. I had a great idea for the challenge unfortunately what I planned didn't work but I persevered and managed to come up with something I liked. I found some gingham buttons at a yard sale on Saturday and just had to incorporate at least one on my card.
Although you can't really see it well the scalloped oval and the border is shiny card stock. You will see a lot of Birthday cards in the next while as I have 12 birthdays this month.
Now isn't this button adorable? I just had to use it even if there is no other pink on the card.
I thought the little mousie is making a Birthday cake so I used this cute sentiment on the inside.
Challenges I would like to enter:
Stella Says Sketch #311 I flipped the sketch.
Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

This is such an adorable card and a great take on our sketch. Love that houndstooth embossed pattern and cute little pink button detail too. Good luck in the challenge! Pia, Bugaboo DT
Super adorable card! I love that the button doesn't match anything else on the card, but it still works (even if it is (gah) pink. :)
