Time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it's Under the Weather so there are a couple of choices for your project, as the title says Weather could be rain, snow, hurricane lots of choices or you could make a Get Well project, which is what I ended up making. Since I had a lighthouse diecut card front and the distress oxide background in a project holder (from last summer at the cottage) I figured it would make a good masculine get well card.
I have used this die a few times but cut it out with a circle die this time I decided to use it as it was intended and how nice I had the perfect background too. I did add the red roof, now I noticed there was something funky going on with the lighthouse but thought it looked weathered and old so I enhanced it with the C00 copic. Since this past weekend I was doing the Scrapbooks & Cards three day card making crop I used a stencil and die from Pink Fresh Studio, love the whole set, flowers, words, dies, stencils I can hardly wait to dive in and use some of the other items. It was a fabulous, high paced not much time for eating or napping fun 3 days, (my experience with stencils is just above level 0)
Close up of the background and the lighthouse, it looks like weathered brick don't you think.
I have very few "get well" sentiments but used one of my earlier purchases from Hero Arts and is quite useful to let someone know you are thinking of them. I didn't get fancy with the inside but still might add a small lighthouse stamp to the inside.
Thanks for stopping by here today and don't forget to check out the Main Blog to see what the rest of the design team have picked for their theme.
ohhhhh what a pretty card! that die is very cool indeed, but your inky swirly background is what makes it for me! (& the perfectly coordinating ombre sentiment as well!) ♥♥♥
This is so pretty, Barb! I adore lighthouses! We are not far from the ocean so anything nautical always appeals to me! You made a beautiful background behind the lighthouse too! Gorgeous card, inside and out!
You are right...this makes a gorgeous masculine get well card!! That card front from last summer is being put to good use...better late that never, right?!!? As always you offer great inspiration to those who decide to play along with our "Under the weather" challenge here at Shopping Our Stash.
This is such a beautiful card, Barbara! I've said this before, and I'll say it again: You have the BEST dies, and this lighthouse is no exception! Fabulous card!
What a beautiful lighthouse die and the background is perfect with it. Great colouring and weathering too. I recently discovered stencils and I love them. Your weekend sounds fabulous. Envious? Me? x
