A Stitch in Time ~~ is the New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash

Challenge #262 at Shopping Our Stash is A Stitch in Time ~~ do you remember the rest of the old quote? I do and it's "saves nine".  Last year I bought a Dressmaker sewing machine at a yardsale but never used it, so since the challenge is to sew on your project, machine stitching , faux, hand stitching, cross stitch, whatever you would like to do on your project. Since it was my first try with the little sewing machine I only stitched around the patterned paper and looking at the pictures I think the tension needs adjusting, I also hand stitched a button on the card.

In case you think you have seen this sketch before.....you have......it's the sketch from the current Jingle Belles Rock challenge.  It is overcast here at the lake today so I decided to take the picture at the breakwall which is across the road from the lane to our cottage. The stamp is from inkadinkado and I've had it a long time.

Close up of the stitching and button

Finished inside using a few scraps, even the snowflake is a scrap. I must remember to bring more Holiday sentiments with me it seems it is the only one I have here.

Challenges I would like to enter this in:

Christmas cards all year round ~~ up and running again with Anything Goes as long as it's Christmas or holiday related)

Hiding in my Craft Room #260 Christmas in July

Thanks for visiting today and get your craft on and join the stitching fun at Shopping our Stash.

This is so pretty, Barb! I LOVE your stitching! What a great yard sale find! I'd love to find one of these, something not too big - I hate dragging out my old sewing machine - it's so heavy! Love your holly paper and gorgeous shiny gold doily!

Barbara, I also have a sewing machine but don't use it as much, I love it when I see cards like yours with beautiful stitching around the panels, the fact that the tension needs adjusting makes it look so totally hand made.
I love the pattern papers and the bright Christmas colors you used, the hand stitched button, the golden doily and that gorgeous gold ribbon are just fabulous finishing details.
I must decorate my cards with some pretty machine stitching like you.
Beautiful card!!!
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

The image is adorable - and I love that background paper. I have thought of trying myself at a stitched border like this for a while but somehow I never dare! Great card!
