Who every heard of a Spring dragon? I found one!!!

The new challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is Kids and the stash item is Primary colours. Paper, brads, buttons or what every you want in primary colours. Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps and that is where I found this adorable Spring Dragon called Clyde. Bugaboo is one of my favourite stores and every Friday they have a freebie and what is best they are Canadian. Now here is my card I hope you have your sunglasses on!!!
IMG_2848
I just had to make that flower into a “cone flower” or Echinacea just because I like purple too.
IMG_2849
Doesn’t Clyde have and adorable face?+
IMG_2850
Here is the inside and since I couldn’t decide if it was a Birthday card or get well card I left it blank.
Thanks for visiting today, head over to the “Blog” check out what the design team have made and say “Hello” to our two new teamies.

Shopping Our Stash #198~~Opposite Day

Challenge #198 Opposite Day we want you to -- use something that is opposite of your usual style. For example, if you are usually CAS, use a really frou-frou ribbon.  Head over to Shopping Our stash and check out the rules for entering and while you are there see what the DT has made.  I really don’t have an idea what my usual style of crafting is except I know I don’t go overboard on the frills and I’m not a CAS crafter, what I don’t like to do is distressing so here is what I made for the challenge.
IMG_2845
I used the elephant from a retired set from Stampin’ up called In the Wild. Every thing but the base is from the scrap file, the flourish was sitting on my desk. The black brads are my last two in the container.
IMG_2846
Close up of the distressing on the image and layers.
IMG_2847
I used the rest of the vellum for the sentiment on the inside and added the butterfly that was also sitting on my desk, a left over from another project.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you will join us for Opposite Day and tell us what your usual type of creating is.

New Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad~~Owls

Challenge #110 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is Owls, now that’s an easy one. The sponsor this challenge is Sweet Pea Stamps and my owl image is named Autumn Hooty and the creator is Concetta Kilmer.
IMG_2854
Since he or she was such a funky owl I sort of carried through the zentangle theme. I used Autumn colours of rust, cocoa and mustard in the cardstock and a touch of pinkish purple on the wings.
IMG_2856
Just a close up of the owl
Thanks for dropping by today and go find your owl stamps and create something for The Cheerful Stamp Pad check out what the rest of the design team have made and we have a new design team member Vee Cassidy you can see her project HERE.

SOS Challenge #198 Texture Me…….

Looking for my Clear it Out Post scroll down or click HERE.

Did you have fun last week with the Lost and Found Challenge? I hope you found lot’s of new to you things, I did. The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Texture Me  -- use your oldest embossing supply (folder, powder, or even a stylus and brass template)  I used my very first cuttlebug embossing folder. the Happy Birthday one. A few years ago, before I had a die cutting/embossing machine someone posted on a chat board they had accidently bought two Birthday folders (like most of us never buy duplicates) and said the first person to post would be the winner and it was me.
IMG_2842
I bought a package of Black and white patterned paper at Winners a while ago and one of the designs was a shimmery white, I used it to emboss the Happy Birthday. I wanted to show most of the folder and just added the little house mouse image and a scrap of ribbon.
IMG_2843
I wish you could see how shimmery this is and so sad it’s the last piece.
IMG_2844
Simple inside and the sentiment is from Printworks. I coloured the hearts with pink.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you will join in the fun for this awesome challenge. Head over to the SOS blog check out the rules and see what the rest of the design team have for their “texture” project.

Clear it Out Tuesday is celebrating Mother’s Day with Flowers

The challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is to make a Mother’s Day project and the stash is Flowers. Our very own Laura is the sponsor for the challenge this week, $10 GC for the digi store of your choosing.  I know which one I would pick, what about you? Well in order to win you have to enter so head to the blog for the rules and check out the rest of the design team’s projects.
IMG_2839
The image I used is from Ching-Chou Kuik  I just love her images, there is also a Facebook fan page. I used my favourite colours, purple and pink. The frame was made with three copic markers and shiny paper. You cut two pieces of shiny paper the same size, one you put inside a large zip-lock baggie, (in the center and zip closed, then you take the alcohol markers and scribble all over the plastic bag, covering the piece that is inside the bag. then spritz with rubbing alcohol and put your other piece of shiny paper down on the “mess”  pick it off and let it dry.
IMG_2840
Close-up of the image.
IMG_2841
This shows how beautiful the technique is and I didn’t want to cover it up so just put the sentiment right on the oval off cut from the frame on the front.

Challenge #109 Zentangles Continues at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

As with the first week of the challenge I was mesmerized by the elephant and had so much fun creating the card, this week I couldn’t decide which other image I wanted to use……..so I did two. The Cheerful Stamp Pad would like to to join us for this awesome Zentangle challenge. The sponsor is Sweet Pea Stamps if you haven’t checked out their great stamps and digis from many fabulous designers. Both my images were from Norma J. Burnell digis.,
IMG_2834
As you see I did a Halloween card (you can never be too early for them) the image is named Treat Hummer. coloured with my Spectrum Noir pastel alcohol markers. Some patterned paper from a Halloween stack pad and a scrap that was on my table. Orange and white bakers twine (a scrap fest purchase) to finish it off.
IMG_2835
close up of the image.
IMG_2831
Second card (too bad both cards couldn’t be blogged first) is also from Norma J Burnell and is named Cat’s Cradle. coloured with the SN pastel alcohol markers. I added the flourish to accent the flourishes in the background paper.
IMG_2832
Couldn’t leave without a close up of the beautiful image.
Thanks for spending some time here today and I hope you like my Zentangles. It would be lovely to see your idea of the Zentangle challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers~~Q is for Quick

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers has given an awesome challenge for this fortnight, Q is for Quick  and it is to make a 10 minute or less card!!!  I thought for a long time about this one, I rarely make an hour card let alone 10 or less minutes so here is how it went down…on my desk or table was a card base and a strip of a trial piece of Drunken Chalks technique in the perfect size. We were cooking with gas here. Next organize stamps, ink and embossing powder, the heat gun already plugged in. Now here is what I ended up with……
IMG_2811
I had pre-cut the pink strips  I had bought the chalk inks and the dragonfly (from PSX) a long, long, long time ago and I think it was to do the Drunken Chalks technique but I put the chalks away in that safe place and of course after a few years it was out of sight out of mind. So glad they surfaced and I got to use them.
IMG_2812
The dragonfly stamp is from PSX which is no longer in business, sad as they had awesome stamps. I inked it in versamark watermark and embossed it with detail gold.
IMG_2813
I love using the top note sizzix die cuts for my sentiments on the inside of my cards. The sentiment is from Print Works collection.
Since I organized everything ahead of time this took me 9 minutes and 30 seconds, would have been quicker if at the last minute I was scrambling to dig out the pink pearls from the package.
Thanks for spending some time here today and I hope I have inspired you to join the fun challenge Q is for Quick. Don’t forget to check out what the rest of the design team has made.

Challenge #197~~~Lost and Found

Looking for my Clear it Out post, scroll down or click HERE

Shopping Our Stash Challenge # 197 is Lost & Found -- use something you've re-discovered (could have been lost, you could have just forgotten you owned it). As you know my room has been recently decluttered now there were lots of lost things found, one was my tulip border embossing folder, so that is where I was starting from. I was sorting a box and an already coloured and fussy cut image was found so step two now to figure out what to do with my two found items, well on seeing The Crooked Stamper’s Sketch #3 I had it made in the shade. Here is it………
IMG_2827.
This stamp is from the Stamp Barn which is no longer in business but the Frog’s Whiskers in Cambellford bought it and you can still get the image in cling mount and a die to cut it out. At Scrapfest on Saturday I bought the die to match my stamp. Of course I didn’t get to use it as this image was already finished waiting to be used.
IMG_2828
The cute little butterfly button is from a package I had forgotten I had bought at Winners at Christmas I found it in a box of cardstock I was sorting. I made some clouds with a plastic cloud template and All Night Media chalks.
IMG_2829
Here is the inside of the card, The sentiment is from Stampendous and is called N058 Light in Dark.

It’s Challenge Time at Clear it Out Tuesday

Challenge #74 at Clear it Out Tuesday is a colour challenge and the colour is YELLOW and the stash item is Yellow things. The sponsor is Melon Headz Illustrating. I picked a Super Hero image to use for the challenge, because it was a yellow challenge I picked one that looked like Flash, I knew I could use yellow on him, I did google a picture so I had the colours in the right places. And here he is……
IMG_2821
I got a little carried away with the sizing of the image but he did fit on the A2 card base. My stash items are the yellow stars and yellow rickrack on the inside. The patterned paper is from McMahon and I got it almost a couple of years ago and knew it was perfect for my little superhero.

Inside of the card and note the awesome watermark Samantha made for us.

Welcome to a NEW Challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Challenge #109 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is Zentangle Sweet Pea Stamps and Sweet Pea Stamps is the sponsor for the two week challenge. I chose the elephant digital image from Courtney McAnsh digital Stamps. I coloured it with my spectrum noir markers, it came out a bit darker than I wanted but I’m happy with it.
IMG_2824
I cut the image and layer with the spellbinder rectangle large dies added the Fleur Dis Lis border punch edge and a band of pink ribbon. Everything except the patterned paper was from my scrap box, even the base.

Just a simple sentiment for the inside.

Clear it Out Tuesday is having an Anything goes challenge and the stash item is Anything goes, how easy is that? The sponsor for the challenge is Odd Ball Art Co. they are on of our new sponsors for 2015 and have the cutest images. I chose this super cute image called Wanda image #9 and I knew I wanted to use a happy colour.
IMG_2808
I used Stampin’up’s Blendabilities Calypso Coral, My stash item is the duo of ribbons, one is whisper white and a narrow coral sheer ribbon.
IMG_2809
Having a bit of a panic as I am out of E000 copic ink and cannot find anyone that sells the refill for it, here’s hoping there will be one at Scrapfest in Kitchener on Saturday.
IMG_2810
When I finished the card I wasn’t sure if I was using it for a Birthday or not so I didn’t put the sentiment on the inside, although my Sister-in-law’s birthday is the end of April, wonder if she will like it.

Happy Easter to all my friends, family and followers. Today is going to be a busy day for me as I’m cooking the ham for dinner, sometimes I think going out would be a more relaxing day. Just a short post today as I am sure everyone has lots of things to do. I think we are going to have a white Easter this year, not going to be much fun for the Easter egg hunts that will be going on in a lot of communities. Here are the treats I made up for the ladies at bowling,
IMG_2792
I packaged up 20 or 21 baggies and of course used Maxwell holding Easter eggs.
