Peace on Earth (Day)

I am really trying hard to do  the Jingle Belles prompts but so far I can't seem to get things going until the last days of the challenge, at least I am earlier than last prompt. As you see the challenge is Earth Day which means recycle something to use, well I spotted a gift card from 2024 in my old card stash and knew it was perfect to upcycle and at the same time I saw a new way to do the Eclipse technique which is perfect for the image.

The gift card was 4 inches square, perfect size for a 5 1/2 inch square card, since there are many ways to do this new way of Eclipse I played around deciding circles, squares then I saw the hexagon dies on the desk I think I have been trying to incorporate them into a card for a while. I think this was the first time using the scalloped square dies from Elizabeth Craft designs and the embossing folder is Softly Falling from Stampin'up (my favourite winter EF)

I thought the sentiment was perfect for the gnomes.

Man's Best Friend

Two weeks has whizzed by again and it's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, the theme for this fortnight is Man's best friend so create a card featuring an animal one would have as a pet. Now since I have a cat you would think I would pull out one of my many cat stamps but I changed my mind when I found out a friend just adopted a new dog so I just had to make a card to celebrate.

Well my stash was really put to the test, embossing folder You never been used probably two decades old, I found the Katzelkraft dog image in an envelope that has gifted images and sentiments, not sure how old they are but probably 4 or 5 years of hoarding, the dies I used are long rectangles and the sentiment is computer generated (that caused several hours of stress) Although Riggs is a charcoal lab I had already used the lab image so just pretend he has floppy ears. I coloured and fussy cut and popped up on a  smooshed watercolour panel.

A different angle to show how the image and the panel are elevated.

Finished the inside with a computer generated sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and we are looking forward to see your Man's Best Friend card in our gallery.

Baby It's Cold Outside!!

Hello fellow crafters, I'm finally slipping in with a card for the current (soon to end) challenge at Christmas Kickstart. When I saw the prompt "Brimming with Style" which means Hats I knew I had the perfect House Mouse image to make a winter card. Thank goodness we have finally passed (fingers crossed) the need for winter hats, bring on the face shading straw hats. So here is my card for the challenge.

Being a Winter card I decided to use my favourite colour....Purple I like non-traditional colours for Christmas as well. The sentiment is a wood block stamp from Impression Obsession/

Finished the inside with a Stampendous Cling Mount Sentiment stamp.

Very Vanilla Vintage Christmas

Hello my fellow Christmas challenge crafters, I finally finished the vintage Santa card I started 8 days ago, I have been trying to organize my supplies (gasp) it's not easy but I came upon a box of vanilla invitation blanks that I found at Goodwill for $2.00 there are 100 in the box, yep gonna take me a while to use them up. I had been looking for the perfect vanilla shade for cards and I had it in my stash all along. Okay on with the card. I stamped the image, cut the ovals, had the base ready as well as a layer then life happened, appointments, dt cards, laundry, once that was under control I had a chance to finish my card for the Jingle Belles Christmas challenge.

Please note there is distressing on the music layer (gasp) not usually something I do and the inking whoa I inked and inked and inked some more.
Items I used Vintage Santa, spellbinders plain and fancy ovals, Stampin'up music background stamp and Versafine Sepia ink for stamping, Walnut oxide distress ink for distressing.

Side view to show the slight elevation of the focal point.

Inside finished with a scrap of music note paper and a Stampendous sentiment and some more inking.

I am adding this to.

Up, Up and Away.........

Hello my crafty friends I hope your week is going well and you are having good weather, we had our preview of summer for a couple of days and now it's -1 C or 30 F and been snowing so I'm back wearing my winter coat. The only thing to do until the real summer arrives is see what new challenges are being promoted, starting with Up, Up, and Away at Shopping Our Stash so create a card with something you will see in the SKY, balloon, plane, bird, rainbow....so many options. A couple of Thursdays ago while at bowling the score board puts animated pictures when a strike, spare, headpin etc happens well one was a biplane and an idea was planted, sometimes you don't know where or when inspiration will happen, now own to my card. (just as I envisioned)

The stamp set I used is Sky is the Limit  from a Sale-a-bration promotion not sure of the year but this is only the second time it has seen ink, I did a bit of colouring and fussy cut the plane and cut a second propeller which is popped up, then flat attached it to the acetate. The background was blended with broken china distress oxide ink on a Studio Light cloud stencil (second attempt at clouds) Both sentiments are from the same set.

Side view.

Another angle but nothing really shows it perfectly except to see it IRL

I am entering this in:

Let the Reindeer Games Begin

I finally finished a card for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge  ~~ Walking in a Whimsical Wonderland, and nothing is more whimsical than mice dressing up like  a reindeer, an angel and just being goofy. Time is of the essence as the challenge closes at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

The image I used is a wood mount House Mouse Designs stamp, I cut the many layers with Elizabeth Craft Design stitched and scalloped rectangle die sets. The sentiment is a silver sticker.  The inside is to be finished when I find the suitable sentiment in my stamp jungle.

Thanks for stopping by to check out what I've been crafting, and it's Holiday cards.

I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash the prompt is to create a card with lots of sparkle, glitter, gems etc. Well I wasn't in the mood for loose glitter and with a cat that needs to be supervising that would be a disaster so I dug out a 6 X 6 pad that has glitter sheets and mirror cardstock I picked up at Dollarama and of course when you say glittery it spells Holiday card which I add to my 2026 holiday stash.

I made a 5 1/2 inch square card I use Elizabeth Craft Designs snowflake trio dies, I cut the large snowflake out of the glitter cardstock and the small one out of aqua mirror cardstock which I popped up and added an aqua gem. the snowflake was then flat attached to the white layer which was embossed with a Stampin'up softly falling embossing folder which was added to the glitter and a premade square base. I added the word JOY (found it in my bits box) just so the recipient knows which end is up.

I different angle to show the glitter

Finished the inside with a scrap of glitter cardstock and a very ancient wood mount stamp from the Artful Stamper.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the Main Blog and see what the rest of the team have glittered I hope you will be inspired to join the "I Don't Sweat, I Sparkle" challenge.
