C is for Cheeky Christmas

Oh my it's December? So it means a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and as always the theme for December is C is for Cheeky Christmas. And here is some eye candy for you.

I had a bit of trouble coming up with a plan for this month as I'm still in a state of disorganization after the summer, stamp I wanted to use is MIA so on to the second choice the snarky cats, and there are so many to decide from but here is my mini slimline card which will be used as a money holder for Christmas.

I coloured and fussy cut the snarky cat on the sled and popped him up precariously on a snow hill, the sky was blended with distress oxide inks. The sentiment was also on the same set.

A side view to see the elevation, inside is not finished yet but will include a "fence" to hold the cash.

Thanks for visiting today and I'm sure you can come up with something a little more cheeky than I did. Do check out the SoSS blog and see what the rest of the design team have made.

It's a Banner Holiday Card

One of my favourite prompts at the Jingle Belles Challenge is the Banner inspiration one although I love all their prompts (some better than others) although I didn't manage to do a lot of the challenges I'm going to try harder in 2026 because I am scrambling to get enough cards to mail.  My card zeroed in on the pale teal and the muted trees, the glittery "Jingle" and instead of snowflakes I used trees. Check below for the inspiration banner.

I used a 3D embossing folder, mirror cardstock for the trees and some glitter cardstock for the Merry, Christmas was stamped on a scrap of pale teal as stamping on the embossed part would be messy.

Finished the inside with a scrap of teal, a hero arts sentiment and some more silver trees.

Forever Young

Welcome friends, family and followers and welcome to a new month and a new challenge. For the next 13 days we are promoting "Forever Young" and want to see your projects made for the young ones. This is a welcome distraction from the holiday cards I should be making, but what I made was a fairly simple mini slimline card using lots of older items even a NBUS (never been used stuff)

I haven't used Penguin Party (SU) for a long time and thought it perfect for a little one.  I stamped and fussy cut the panda and he/she is popped up. I used a cloud stencil from Essentials that I had to have in 2022 but never got it out to try until now and it wasn't as scary to use as I thought it might be. The large birthday die was cut twice and layered for a bit of elevation.

Side view on how it is elevated, the balloon was coated with s nuvo glitter brush.

Finished the inside with a very old birthday sentiment woodblock set from Stampin'up

A Quick Thank You

Hello and glad you are here to check out the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash which is to make a quick thank you card in under 30 minutes, don't forget to time yourself.  Since I seldom make CAS cards mine took the full 30 minutes, I probably could have stopped the clock while I washed the glue off my fingers.

I haven't made an eclipse card in a long time and I hoped I could manage the 30 min time challenge. The first thing that makes a quick card is dies, second is a fabulous winter paper pad with gorgeous scenes. There is nothing on this card that is over 2 years old.

A better look at the eclipse element.

Thanks for visiting today and check out the fantastic quick cards the rest of the gang at Shopping Our Stash have made,  then get your timer out and see if you can do it!!

Leftovers~~Jingle Belle Style

Finally some time to make a card for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge and one prompt I am very fond of and usually have lots of leftovers except this year I have not been keeping up with my holiday cards. So first on the agenda is the bits, bobs and some bigger parts.

As you see lots of bits and even partially finished images.

This was almost like cheating as most parts of the card were ready to glue together for an earlier challenge but never made it.  The patterned paper has a gold undertone so I layered it and the stamped image on gold (which is hard to photograph) I added the red Merry Christmas sticker sentiment to balance the cardinals. The stamped image is popped up.

Finished the inside with a Hero Arts sentiment

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to get at least one more leftover card made.

These are a Few of my Favourite Things

Hello and welcome November and a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. Challenge #560 is A Few of My Favourite Things which means make a card with two or more of your favourite things and tell us what they are. Here is what I came up with some of my favourite things.

My first favourite item is House Mouse Designs stamps, I bought my first one from a yard sale before I even started stamping over 25 years ago, second item is "fun folds" I love to pair a fun fold with the House Mouse images I am constantly looking for and trying new folds, my third item is fussy cutting as you see the leaves are fussy cut and popped up on the image.  I could make a huge list of favourite things.

Here is the back of the card, perfect for my "favourite" vertical Hero Arts Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and check out the SOS blog and see the favourite things the rest of the team have used on their cards.

Hey Ghoulfriend

Hello and welcome to October and a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash. Along with fall and the Canadian Thanksgiving October brings HALLOWEEN, so we would like to see your spooky, cute, scary Halloween cards. This is my second spooky card and I used a favourite "sheetload" sketch I would still like to get a oouple more done, perhaps when I get all my Halloween stamps and dies in the same place.

Two sheets of  6x6 patterned paper made two cards, my stash is a pack of 6 stamps from Hero Arts, 2001 you can see them in the picture. I am positive these were my first Halloween stamps. Of course Monica looks cute in her flower costume this stamp is dated 2008, the patterned paper is a Halloween pack from Bo Bunny I think as there was no cover so I've had it for a long time. Both the image and sentiment are popped up more than I usually would but they are not being mailed this year due to Canada Post being on strike for the second fall in a row.

Inside was finished with a couple of the stamped imaged and left over patterned paper made into flags. I will add the inside sentiment when I'm home.
