It's Summer Lovin' time at Shopping Our Stash.

It's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash ~~ Challenge 453 is Summer Lovin' so summer realted projects please.  Not sure sure about the summer lovin' I'm not lovin' it at all its too hot and humid of course there is no A/C at the cottage, and I'm sticking to the keyboard on the laptop as well as it is on my lap instead of on the laptop table. Taking pictures today was fun as well, a bit of a breeze so had to be quick to capture a shot before it was face down on the breakwall.

Here we are on the beach with a beach card. teehee. First I decided on my image, from House Mouse Designs (had remembered to bring a summer stamp with me) Keeping Cool with Muzzy. After I coloured it with copics I fussy cut it out so I could elevate it with foam strips on the the smooshed background, believe it or not the watercolour paper is from the dollar plus store, 18 sheet pad for $2.99. I layered it on a very thin black layer so it pops. Then with a lot of fanagling I cut the pink layer out of the larger pink piece (I only had one) with a large stitched rectangle,  (I don't have EC plain squsres) Then what would summer be like without a gingham tablecloth? The paper pack was from the $$ and I bought it 2 years ago or longer because of the Baby Girl piece in it.  There will be a sentiment on the front when I get home for a suitably sized one.

I did have a picture of how the image is popped up but is was way too fuzzy to post it.

So finished the inside with a Stampendous cling stamp dated 2015, and a few scraps of the patterned paper and cardstock.

I am entering this in:

August Rudolph Days.............sadly it was cancelled.

I'm crafting along at the cottage and trying to get a few challenges finished before they ended,  managed to get the ABC Christmas done, now on to the Rudolph Days.  Last Tuesday I saw a sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and thought wow I can use the last piecs of that 12 X 12 patterned paper, I don't usually make "dark" cards but it just seemed right to use Green as a back drop. I'm sure the other cards I made with this patterned paper I used Red.

As you see I took the picture on my deck it's too busy to try to get to the breakwall as there is a lot of traffic on a Saturday and Sunday.  I used Fluffles with a present, this can be used for any occastion that is gift giving. It was planned to make another to use for Two-fer challenge but it has closed and sadly ended. I picked up the green and kraft in the plaid to use for the layers, Flufflies is popped up with a couple of squares of heavy cardstock scraps  This sketch is certaily a keeper as it uses up scraps.

Finished the inside with a Stampabilities Stamp (2005) it's just perfect for the vertical cards. And not sure where that scrap of plaid was from but sitting on my cutting table and "waste not want not" and it fit perfectly.

I Tried a new Sketch.

A few weeks ago we had a sketch challenge at Shopping Our Stash, well there were 4 sketches and I picked one that fit my image and the time I had (sometimes I run late) Well this sketch is one I really wanted to try, I love layers and this one was perfect and it fit my image too. I have had my image coloured for a few days in hopes that I would get a chance to enter it in the ABC Christmas Challenge blog. The letters are P, Q and R. I chose to do P is for Plump, I haven't played along for a while but when I saw the super cute plump bird from Stampendous (mini stamp) I knew I wanted to play.

I used Sketch #1 from Craft with Sarah  this is a great sketch to use up scraps, I stamped and coloured the Stampendous mini stamp bird and coloured him I (don't laugh) drew the tree branch for him to perch on. The snowflakes are from Impression Obsession, I cut two of each and layered them, and popped them up.

Close up of the snowflakes, I had some colour samples given to me and this one a gossy white and layered quite nicely.

Finished the inside with a super cute sentiment from Impression Obsession and a few patterned paper scraps.

By the Sea

Hello , thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting while at the lake, it seems appropriate to have a water realted csrd for the Seize The Birthday challenge #221 By the Sea is the topping. I was inspired by the surprise party guest Jenny, so in packing for the lake I added my lighthouse die and a scrap of ancient Stampin' up patterned paper, I'm sure it is the final piece.

I love taking pictures on the breakwall overlooking the lake, although when I was there to take the picture the sun decided to hide. I smooshed the scrap of watercolour paper into distress oxide blues. making sure I had a darker spot for the water, My first pass with the die it didn't want to cut one spot, so I grabbed the waxed paper and gave it another try it was perfect. Now I didn't throw the first one away I used the top half and put the yellow between the two layers, the red I paper pieced. The die cuts the lighthouse out of a piece of cardstock but I wanted it to be a circle and used a postage stamp circle die to cut it out. I also cut two heavy cardstock circles to give the circle some elevation.

Finished the inside with scraps of paper and a sentiment from Printworks. (I like this as I use it for Christmas as well)

H is for Hormonal

Welcome to a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and it's a doozy, I'm guessing a lot  can relate to.

For this challenge I (again) dug into the drawer of Art Impressions stamps. and a sentiment too. You can never go wrong with any of the AI girlfriends, Golden Oldies or just the original stamps.

Since summer is so short I decided on a summer pool get together, and picked the summery colour of Yellow, so bright and it matched the patterned paper. I added paper glaze to the glasses and the icecubes as well and earrings. after I stamped the sentiment it was too large to use it together so I carefully separated it to add it two spots. Looks good to me.

Took a close up but you can't really see the glaze on the glasses, icecubes or earrings.

Finished the inside with scraps of patterned paper and a Stampendous sentiment, it's Fran's Climg Stamp. I hope the recipient doesn't take offence at it, I love it.

I am entering this in;

Jingle Bells, Jingle Belles Jingle all the Way!!

Yes I know I spelled the Jingle Belles wrong the second time, that is because this card is for their "Cardstock Christmas" gasp no patterned paper oh my what would be next. I am usually dashing in on almost the cut-off date but this time I had a jumpstart as a few challenges ago at the Jingle Belles it was inspired by a movie or song and I stamped and coloured this image but ran out of time to finish it, so tucked it away in the "parts" box just waiting for a time to "break it out"

Any chance I get to use my many House Mouse stamps I will, I just love these little guys and most everyone I send them to love them just as much. I smooshed some watercolour paper on two or three distress oxide inks on my glass mat (finally getting some practice on it)  The image was fussy cut cand elevated with some foam tape, altough You really can't see that in the picture. I added an Impression Obsession sentiment and a few sticker snowflakes.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous sentiment that I can never stamp straight even with a stamp positioner, but I kinda like it on a slight angle. The mouse snowman and snowflake were from a sheet of PSX stickers I was gifted from a good friend. (I miss her)

Wood You Believe?

Challenge #452 at Shopping Our Stash is Wood You Believe? which I'm sure you have guess it is to feature woodgrain or something wood related on your project, For my card I used an Impression Obssession wood mount stamp (had it for a while) called Cardinals by Window.

I'dm hoping this is enough woodgran on it for the challenge as always there are items at home that I could use but didn't think of it before I left home for the cottage,  It would have been a totally different card if I had the woodgrain stamp with me. My first thought was to make it without patterned paper (for the Jingle Belles Challenge) but I just didn't like anything I tried so I have this piece of plaid paper on the coffee table and it was begging to enhance those cardinals. I made the frame (again squares were not here) out of a Elizableth craft designs scalloped rectangle die. I added a piece of acetate and popped the frame up with foam strips.

Close up of the cardinals, when  I coloured this I did the curtains in a soft green and omgoodness all I saw was GREEN it took away from the cardinals, I tried everything to tone them down and ended up putting another colour on but they are really not brown irl.

Finished the inside with a few scraps of leftover paper and  a Hero Arts sentiment stsmp I won at the Jingle Belles challenge a few years ago, it has become one of my favourite sentiments.

A Tiny Craft

Hello friends, family and followers, it's the premier of A Tiny Craft which are ATCs card or coins the choice is yours, for the first challenge of the new ATC blog is Anything Goes, so again the choice is yours. Since I was lucky to be picked to be on the design team here are my offerings for Challenge #1.

This is a monthly challenge and it starts on the 15th of the month.
Here is my Anything Goes ATCs.

for the first part of my "set" I made earth smooshed backgrounds, and what can be cuter than Aliens on them. I coloured and die cut with the dies then cut two more plain layers out of heavy cardstock to give them a bit of elevation.

A few close ups of the coins, which are 2 1/2 inch circles.

This one shows what a couple of extra layers can li
ft them.

Now I have a bit of a surprise since I wasn't sure on what I was going to make I coloured and cut all the images in the set so here are a couple of ATCards.

When I first started out I was just going to make the trio of Aliens but after they were all coloured I decided to just make the coins, then I made the galaxy backgrounds and used all but one image from the set. I also cut two extra layers for each of these too. These will so be in the mail to my great grands.

close up  although I used a shimmer spray you really can't see the sparkle on these.

I'm entering this in:

ATCs Around the World ~~ #80 Anything Goes.

Finally I've come to the end of my post and I hope you have time to check out the new Challenge on the Block, A Tiny Craft...ATC and join the fun remember it's Anything Goes.

It's a Triple "F" Day!!

Hello and welsome to my blog today, it's time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

As I said it's a Triple "F" day......Feline, Fluffles and Fall, and no snark.

As most of my friends/followers know Fall colours are never my go to colours but because I had and idea of the Triple F and wanted to use the fall flufles it had to be Fall colours, I decided to stay home from the cottage for the weekend hoping to play catch up with laundry, dishes and everything I've avoided, I know I want to make cucumber relish at the cottage next week so along with everything else I need to bring the sealers up and put them through the dishwasher.   Back to the card....Fluffles and one layer is elevated with a couple of heavy cardstock pieces, I had a bit of an error and had to correct it with another layer, I even got my crop-o-dial corner rounder out to do the corners, dang thing is heavy.
The striped paper was in a loose pack and once you rip off the cardboard topper
you have no name. but the rust line matched perfect to my cardstock.

Close up of Fluffles and the leaves.

I finished the inside with off cuts from the front panels and of course all my good selection of Birthday sentiments are at the cottage. The card is 5 1/2 inch square.

I am entering this in:

Winter Wonderland ~~ Kitties and puppies

Welcome to my second post for Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge, it's anything goes + the option of Wonderland. I could not resist making a slimline wonderland scene giving reasonalbly even billing to both well maybe I'm a bit biased and leaning to the kitty side.

I used a NBUS I don't think I've had it that long but it's been a while and I was saving it to use on this challenge.

My first attempt at smooshing oxide inks on watercolour paper, I like how it looks. First I stamped and coloured all the bits for the scene, I used the co-ordinating dies (not well but better than usual)  I put all the images on foam dots but the trees and snowball piles are flat attached.

Finished the inside with a couple of left over pieces and a punched paw prints border and a holday sentiment

Two in the afternoon at the breakwall at the lake is the perfect time to take a picture as long as the sun is shining. Today it was perfect.

Because I've not used this super cute set before I'm entering this in:

NBUS ~~ #29  August challenge

Let's Get Sketchy!!!

Challenge #451 at Shopping Our Stash is ~~ Lets Get Sketchy ~~ pick a sketch from Craft With SarahDon't forget to post which sketch you used,  My choice was #003 mainly because it worked perfectly with the image I already had coloured in my stash. All the sketches come with measurements which makes it much easier, although I cut the 1/4 X 6 inch strip wrong twice. You know the old saying "measure twice cut once" Here is my card,

I don't normally make odd sized card, this one is 4 X 6 and as you see I love layers so it will never be entered in a CAS challenge. The stamp I used is a clear mini stamp from stampendous, I have quite a few of these little ones, they fit perfect in my square dies All papers are from my scrap box.

Close up to show the details,

Finished the inside with a Penny Black sentiment from 2009

This is the Sketch I used

I am adding this to:

A neighbour at the lake had a surprise Birthday party on Saturday so I was happy I had a birthday card to give her

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out what sketches the Design team have picked for their project.
