Challenge #208 Baubles, Buttons and Bows

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash has an awesome challenge I hope you are ready to take the challenge as it is Baubles, Buttons and Bows. No single rhinestones, no enamel dots, to define a Bauble is something you found and thought that might look good on a card one day such as part of a broken earring  does this make sense? I hope so.....the Bauble on my card is a rhinestone heart that at one time was on a key chain or a necklace, my hubby found it on the beach with his metal detector. I have a jar of such items that can be used. I also combined it with a bow. So don't forget to check our all the rules for entering the challenge and take a look at what the other design team has created.

Talk about using my stash, the image was left over from another card and it is from Lunagirls  check out their collage sheets. the Happy Birthday I cut for another card but didn't use it and of course the bauble from the beach find jar. I embossed the background with a butterfly folder.

Here is my Bauble and Bow

I used the tulip border embossing folder and one of my oldest Hero Arts sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and dig out those Baubles, Buttons and Bows and join in the fun at Shopping Our Stash.

Second Week of "My Style" challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

Clear it Out Tuesday  continues the "My Style" challenge stash item is your favourite crafting item. As you know I love using die cuts to frame my coloured images and I used one of my first spellbinder dies I bought and that is Circles, I also love using embossing folders.  The sponsor for the challenge is Lacy Sunshine check out the new releases they are awesome.  I didn't use a new release I used a digi I won when I entered a challenge at their challenge blog, it's the first time I have coloured her up.

As you see I used another favourite colour combo I just love blue and lime green together, I used a combination of Spectrum noir and copic markers  and I am hoping you can see I did a cloudy sky with some chalks and my finger.

Closer look at the super cute mermaid

W is for Wine ~~~ The Reason for Living at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Happy Saturday!!! Do you know what time it is? Yes it's time for a new challenge at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers W is for Wine.....the reason for living.  I like a glass of white wine with dinner occasionally  my new favourite is an Ontario wine from Inniskillin Estate winery, it's a late autumn Riesling.  I found a great image at SLS lines just perfect for this challenge.

Since the challenge was wine I used the wine colour for the accents, the flowers were on my table, I don't even know why they were sitting there as they were the only flowers I brought with me to the cottage, So far so good this week I have had everything I have needed to craft, I keep finding more I might need here.

The Shoes challenge continues at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Here I am with a post for Week 2 of "Shoes" at the Cheerful Stamp Pad,  I missed making a project for the first week, I am not even sure what happened except with changing to Fridays I'm a little more challenged at getting things done,  I'm sure I will get a handle on it soon, The sponsor for the challenge is Lunagirl, I used a section of the shoes collage sheet and made an ATC (artist trading card) I found a cute saying so printed it small enough to snip it into little rectangles to add along the side....so now lets see what you think.

I layered the image on gold glitter paper then on a black scalloped layer, added the sentiment down the left side and a rhinestone on the right.
The sentiment is rather funny for me as I only have 6 pair of shoes....one for the gym, one for walking, two sandals, and two pair on dress shoes one for winter and one for summer. I'm sure the sentiment does work for a lot of people out there.

Thanks for joining me today and lets see those projects with "shoes".

Challenge #207 ~~~ For the Boys

Looking for my Clear it Out post, scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash  has a new challenge and it's For the Boys....make a masculine card. Well we all know how stressful it is to make cards for men, they don't like hearts, flowers or fussy stuff so what do you do? Here is what I did for the challenge.

I can't remember who's digi this is it's one I have had for a couple of years, the patterned paper is from a paper pad I bought at the dollar store, I tilted the image and the blue rectangle and added three white brads to look like golf balls.

The inside without a sentiment as they are all at home and I'm at the cottage. I used the Top Note sizzix  die and used some left over patterned paper, the circles are made with a border punch.

Thanks for stopping by today and lets see those masculine cards.

Clear it Out Tuesday is asking for "My Style"

I like layers sometimes a lot of layers and die-cuts usually oval, I even like layers in the inside of the cards, so that is my style. The stash item is your favourite craft product, so head over to Clear it Out Tuesday challenge blog and check out the rules and see what the rest of the team has made for the challenge. The sponsor of the challenge (which will last two weeks) is Lacy Sunshine  there are some really cute images there, so check them out.

The image I chose was Foxglove Enchantress, Since it's all about my favourites I love purple and of course needed to colour this in mauve, this Labels 8 and decorative labels 8 are two of my favourite dies,

Closer look , check out the butterfly

Inside of the the card waiting for the perfect sentiment

Thanks for stopping by today and I would love to see "your style and favourite craft product" so get your project made and put them on the Clear it Out Tuesday Blog.

Some Gruffie Love

I love House Mouse stamps, Happy Hoppers and Gruffies, I don't get a chance to use them very often except for the odd design team project or my own personal cards. This Gruffie was made for a friend that has just had more surgery, she has received her card so now I can blog it.

I used my new Cover a card die and added the rhinestones, the image was a little large for the oval die so I fussy cut the lilac before I cut it.  You have probably noticed I am in love with the new die.

Well this one is a little out of focus  but wanted to give a close up.

I am sliding in on the last day of the challenge at:

Thanks for visiting today and enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #206 Out on a Limb

Looking for my Clear it Out Post....scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash is Out on a Limb.....that's the challenge for this week, it's really and easy one all you have to do is make a card with  Trees, foliage, etc. I know a lot of you readers have Lovely as a Tree from Stampin'up it's been a staple for eons, I have that set but decided I had another set that has never seen ink, sad isn't it. I bought it years ago when I was in Ottawa at the place that made theses stamps. It is from Sunshine Designs. I also took a couple of liberties with the sketch from the Crooked Stamper.

As you see this is a long narrow card, 3 3/4 X 9 inches it fits in a #10 business envelope. This whole card was made from scraps I had here at the cottage left over from other cards I made. I know now you want to go looking for the other card I made with the patterned paper. lol.

Here is Spring with the blossoms and Summer in full foliage and a hot sun.

This one is Autumn with it's cool breeze and Winter with the snowflakes and holly

I am entering this in:

I did flip the sketch and it's a great one too.

Thanks for stopping by today and dig out those tree, branches any type foliage stamps and join in at Shopping Our stash for the Out on a Limb challenge.

It's Celebrate Your Country at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

The theme for the new challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is to use your country's colours and the stash item is Metal embellishments. The sponsor is SLS Lines stamps the design team was given some great images to play with this week don't forget to check out what everyone has made for the challenge. I am from Canada and our country's colours are Red and White  and  here is my card.

I try to make a Winter/Christmas card at least once a month so I picked this cute scene with a snowman and little boy. The maple leaf brad is from my stash and I have had them for a long time it's my last red one too, I also used three metal brads which were white so I coloured them with a red copic marker,

Finished the inside with a white top note die cut.

D is for Dudes ~~~

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge is D is for Dudes ~~ make a Father's Day card or any masculine card/project. I'm always at a loss when making "guy" cards, don't want to add any frou frou stuff but they look so plain without some embellishments. This week we are at the cottage for the whole week, as soon as I start creating something  I realize what I forgot, I need to plan the cards better, I didn't bring sentiments with me except for a Christmas set...what a duh moment.  I did have the right colour cardstock with me even the patterned paper scrap I used. By the end of summer I will have 75% of my "stuff" here.

I used this Gus golfing image from Bugaboo Stamps and it even came with the slightly snarky sentiment. I also used the Stella Says Sketch from Catch the Bug Challenge blog.

Close up of Gus. As I said before I didn't bring sentiments for the inside of my cards or the Top Note die that I use to add the layer.

I would like to enter this in:

Thanks for stopping by today and it's time to get that Father's Day card or any masculine card made and enter the challenge you might just become the Queen of Snark.

Week 2 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad continues with Far Away Places

The Cheerful Stamp Pad is still heading for far away places for week 2 of the challenge. The sponsor for the challenge is Lunagirl designs, if you love vintage you need to check them out, the collage pages are gorgeous. I used the Memories of Paris for my first week but there was one more picture on the collage page just begged me to use it and I made it into an ATC (artist trading card),

The base is dark brown the next layer is gold paper from the dollar store, Memories is from the title of the collage page. I'm pleased with how it turned out.

For my card I used Lunagirl World Maps collage sheet. I haven't worked much with collage sheets and had to get a lesson from my daughter on how to just use one section of the sheet and it was so easy, see you can teach an old dog new tricks.  I picked the London map and distress the edges, I have a Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Collection clear stamps set and took this opportunity to use several stamps. A couple of weeks ago I found a Fiskers Stamp press at a yard sale and I used it to make the scene to fit perfect and straight. (a feat for me) I will add a sentiment when I decide Birthday or Father's Day.

Closer look at the map and vintage car.

Thanks for stopping by today I hope you will think of some far away place and make a project for The Cheerful Stamp Pad's Challenge.

Cute Critter Alert!!!!!

Looking for my Clear it Out Post scroll down or click HERE.

Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge, Cute Critter Alert!!! use a critter.
Now I have a HUGE collection of cute critters and it took me forever to decide which one to use. I decided on Fluffles and theg grasshoppers the stamp is from Stampendous but I'm not sure they even carry them anymore, that's too bad I really like them then again I have quite a few already, even a couple of Christmas ones. I made a double accordion card with a die from Elizabeth craft designs,

One day I will attempt to make a triple accordion circle card, it just takes a lot of brain work

This is the back of the Fluffles circle.

This is the circle behind the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by today and get out those cute critter stamps  or a digi and join the challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

Are You Blue? This Week's Challenge is a Colour and it's BLUE!!

What is easier than a colour challenge? Clear it Out Tuesday's theme is the colour BLUE and the stash item is BLUE things.  The sponsor for the challenge is Dr. Digi Stamps,  and the DT gets to pick a digi to use and I saw this awesome dragon but when it came time to colour it up I realized I needed to use BLUE, so not being up on the cyber world much I mentioned the dilemma I was in to my daughter and she said make it a Sapphire Dragon so I googled it and found out it is a PC game, Jewel Quest the Sapphire Dragon.  Here is my offering for the challenge.

When I picked the dragon I had a Father's Day card in mind because the dragon is BBQing the chicken, I think he looks really awesome in Blue and my stash is rhinestones in sapphire.

Closer look at the rhinestones.

I covered the darker blue with a spica glitter pen in blue, you can see the sparkle on his head.

Thanks for stopping by today and get out your "blue stuff" and enter the challenge at Clear it Out.

Travelling to Far Away Places with Lunagirl

Wouldn't we all love to travel to far away places and the first one that comes to mind is Paris, romantic beautiful Paris. The Cheerful Stamp Pad has a new challenge so you can dream about "faraway places" It doesn't just need to be Paris, you could travel to somewhere closer to home or to the far East, so many options. Lunagirl is our sponsor for this  two week challenge you will find some fabulous collage sheets so head over and have a peek.

As you see my first thought was Paris so I chose the Memories of Paris collage sheet, picked two of the famous sights to showcase, As you see I distressed the edges with TH distress inks. The background is French Script from Stampin'up,to finish the trip to Paris I used one of the small images and made it into a postage stamp, I then added the Paris from the name of the collage page.

Here is a closer look at the Eiffel tower stamp.

The inside of the card waiting for me to decide what sentiment to use.

Thanks for stopping by today and Friday is now our new day to post our blogs, so head over to the main challenge blog to check out what  the rest of the design team have made for the challenge.

Shopping Our Stash #204 Red, Red Wine

The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Red, Red Wine -- use reds, or use a wine/drinking theme (or both!). I couldn’t find the digital image I wanted to use, I searched two computers and a data stick it wasn’t there so I searched the web for an image to use so I have no idea who’s it is as it was just a free digi on the web. So here is my offering for the challenge.

I used up a lot of scraps for this card, the base is bravo burgundy, it sort of looks brown, the patterned paper was a piece in my scrap box as was the pink layer and the bubbles were ages old but sitting on the table. I fussy cut out the image and did some clear glaze on the glass, not happy with how it went on, I also hadn’t thought of a sentiment yet.

Thanks for stopping by today and stop by the blog and check out the rules and see what the rest of the team have made.

It's Anything Goes at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

Wow it's June already, where did May go? I'm so tired of the nonseasonal weather, one day 28 degrees C. the next it's 9C, Last night they were expecting frost hope you covered your plants.

The challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday is Anything Goes and it's a favourite of everyone, the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps  They are a Canadian digi company and have some super cute digis. For my project I chose a "friends" digi, here is what I came up with.

One of my favourite colour combos is lime green and blue, the image was coloured with copics and I used the tulip embossing folder for the layer.

Close up of the "friends"

I was undecided about a sentiment  but this can be finished quickly.

Thanks for stopping by today and take some time to join us at Clear it Out Tuesday for the challenge.
