What Was On My Desk!!

 Here we go....there are always many many things on my desk and I have a corner computer desk with shelves, no I won't show you it but the only clear space is the small spot for my helper (see the sidebar) but I will show what I started with.

leftover paper, leftover cardstock and a layered snowflake leftover from December crafting. Now here is what I made with my bits.

The snowflake was perfect for the new rage of Fractured cards, they are fun and addicting and sure use up a lot of scraps. I popped up the snowflake and added a rhinestone to the center.

Here is the finished inside with a favourite sentiment and a couple of scraps of paper. I would have had my card finished a couple of days ago but I couldn't seem to locate the sentiment and why was it in the box of Birthday wood stamps? Then I was a bit late in getting my son's birthday card done. There does come a time when you run out of themes for family birthday cards.

Spring Has Sprung!!

 Spring has Sprung at Shopping Our Stash so for SOS518 we want to see your Spring or Easter projects. Now here in SWO (southwestern Ontario) I thing we have sprung into Spring at least 3 times, my daffodils and tulips were totally out of the ground when we got our last blast and wow it was cold, fingers crossed they will survive. I went with the "spring" part although there were plans for Easter so if you see it on the blog it's a surprise. 

As you see I jumped on the bandwagon and made a Fractured card or Faux Shutter fold card, be nice it's my first attempt and they are so much fun. Next one will have a smaller "diamond" in the center. 

Since this is Shopping Our Stash I used long retired dsp from Stampin'up and a Studio G stamp that I remember it was from the $1 bin, I had three out to play with but two of them need some conditioning as they didn't want to ink up properly.

Holiday Cards to Die (Cut) For.....

Intriguing caption for the newest challenge at the Jingle Belles and I have so many sets of dies that have never seen cardstock I could have used  more if I could find time.  I will apologize first for the less than stellar photos but here is my card.

This is a 5.5 square card, unknown patterned paper (I think it might be the last piece. The bow is die cut out of green and gold shiny posterboard, and as I said the photography is not the best.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps of patterned paper and a sentiment.

Seeing Spots....

 Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash!! SOS#517 ~~ Round and Round, sounds like a fun challenge and we want to see round cards or feature circles, dots or spots on your project.  I decided to tackle a Round easel card....now it does look complicated but it is so, so easy and you can make it what ever size circle dies you have. I used some infinity circle dies, spellbinders dies and a scalloped die from a fun card die set. All three of these are many years old and the set to make the card, hmmm cut out but never finished.(couldn't locate it when I wanted it) 

I love using my House Mouse stamps when I make fun fold cards so it was easy to pick one that fit in the circle die. The patterned paper is a long retired Stampin'up dsp from my pile of 12X12 papers. The sentiment is also from a Birthday set also retired from SU, I elevated it with some foam tape.

S is for Snarky

 Welcome to the March challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and I'm ready to SNARK Mother Nature I'm sure she is off her meds or need new ones, ya never know what kind of day you have until you step out the door and my tulips are confused. So I will let Edna announce the theme for you.

 

Don't you think we need one of these T-shirts? I would wear one.

Well dug out my Snarky Cats and used a favourite Sheetload of cards design from January 2023 for a mini slimline card, these make perfect money holders. The plaid patterned paper was a scrap that was on my desk, the blue layer a scrap from my paper file drawer. The image and both sentiments was a scrap of heavy 110 lb. cardstock. I used word bubble dies (stampin'up) to die cut the one sentiment.

No inside sentiment yet as I was running low on time and it's too late at night, I promise to finish it tomorrow as I have a bunch of cards without sentiments and I find it is much easier and faster to do it all at the same time as it is to go to sign a card and find you need to finish it...trust me I have been there and done that and will probably do it again.
