Beep, Beep

I'm on a roll with masculine cards and Cardz 4 Guyz is a really good place to look for inspiration.  I know I struggle with what to do for the men, and all most of the family are men/boys.. I have lots of stamps and dies of cars, trucks, even a monster truck (the great grandson loves it)  So here is my offering for WHEELS.

Starting with the background, I did some smooshing with three shades of blue distress oxide inks. The road is from a paper pack I found at Dollarama, the "hedge" is a scrap that was a leftover from my Easter ATCs. clouds are die cut out of foam core so they look like they are floating.
I die cut two car bodies and glued them together with acetate in-between for the widows, I elevated it with pop dots but the wheels are flat attached. Happy Birthday is a rub-on from the white sentiments package that is at least 10 years old, (still lots of sentiments left too.)

close up and you can see the shiny windows.

Close up of the sentiment, I must remember to use more of these super simple rub-ons.

Thanks for looking again and check out the challenge it's a great way to get those Masculine cards made.

Grey Skyscrapers against a Vividly Yellow sky.

Since I saw the Color Hues challenge I have wanted to take myself out of my colour comfort zone and use Yellow and not for flowers but it hast taken me until the day before the challenge ends to bring it all together.

Yellow and Grey, not two colours I would put together but that is what I LOVE about Color Hues, simply 2 colours to work with and it's fab. I cut the skyscrapers in grey and cut one in black to use as a shadow image. I made two backgrounds one with watercolor paper and this one with blending two oxide inks together and adding droplets of water. The second yellow background is from a paper pad from Walmart.
I had originally planned a rectangular card but felt I needed to minimize the yellow sky.
Hello is an ancient rub-on sentiment from Stampin'up

Finished the  inside with an oval sentiment on some of the tie-dyed paper.

I'm adding this to:

I Made This For You Mom!!

It will soon be May and Mother's day is May 9th this year in Canada and the U.S. so it's time to get busy and make a Mother's day card for your Mom, Mom-in-law, a close friend or your Daughter just because she's a great Mom. I have made cards for all of the above, everyone appreciates a handmade card.  Since this is Shopping Our Stash I dug deep in my stash, way back to 1998 and 2008.

The basket is from Limited Edition stamps Long Island NY dated 2008, It is a large wood mount with the basket on one side and the handles on the end, I stamped it with versafine sepia ink, cut it out and created shadows with #31 copic marker. The pansy stamp is from Stampendous also a wood mount stamp dated 1998, it was stamped with memento tuxedo black and coloured with copics, then fussy cut to fit  the basket.

Close up of the pansies, odd thing the one bud is not light purple it is the same colour as the other one, must be the way the light shone one it and of course both buds are free standing.

The third wood mount stamp I used is also from Limited Edition and is double sided with a different sentiment on the other side, it reads A Basket Full of Friendship. The pansies are attached so they go over the edge of the basket.

Since we are honouring Mothers with our challenge here is a picture of my Mom and I taken many, many years ago.

Thanks for visiting my blog today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the design team projects, then get your mojo working and make a card for the challenge.

When Earth Day Meets Rudolph Days.....

Hello crafty peeps, it's time for the April Rudolph Days, wow I know what you are thinking....is it the 30th already, no it isn't I just managed to have some time on Earth Day to make a card from a card "early".

I save all my store bought cards as I know there are challenges out there around Earth day to do recycling/upcycling and what better way to use a gorgeous wintery scene. I loved the gold and whte of the original card so kept with the theme, I used the Stampin'up ovals as they are the largest of my oval sets. You would wonder why you need 4 sets, but they are all so different. The white layer is embossed with the Gently Falling embossing folder again from Stampin'up (it's my fav.) layered it on gold metallic posterboard. (dollar tree) It was so pretty I decided to omit a sentiment.

A close up of the wintery scene (very much like April 21st 2021 here in SWO)

Wow look I even heat embossed the sentiment!! The layer behind the sentiment is also from the same greeting card, I trimmed it down and added it as the gold layer behind the sentiment.
The wood mount stamp is from Impression Obsession Inc. Lindsey Ostrom

Thanks for stopping by today, and remember I'm early so there is still 5 days to make your card for Rudolph Days.

M is for Monochromatic at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

The theme for challenge #183 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers  is Monochromatic so pick a colour and lets see how many shades you can make into a card.  I love monochromatic cards and do them all the time, as always there are so many choices it was hard to settle on one. I'm working on building my stash of "guy" cards so that set the plan in motion.

The die I used just cuts the image in the cardstock so I used a circle die to cut it out so I could elevate the scene. The sky is a scrap of watercolour paper that I smooshed in three shades of distress oxide inks.

Close up to see the watercolour background.

Finished the inside with a little bit of snark and some scraps of patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the MAIN BLOG to see what the rest of the Sistahs have made I'm sure there is much more snark there.

Shopping Our Stash ~~ All things Leafy.

It's finally spring in SWO, April showers and new growth budding all over. Crocuses have bloomed, the wild violets in the lawn are flowering and at Shopping Our Stash the challenge for the next fortnight is Plant Life ~~ all thing Leafy. I found a really great leafy piece of patterned paper in my stash,  it was a bundle stamps, dies and a paper pack from the SAB 2009, I've pretty much gone through the leafy/floral sheets and have used the dies but never inked the stamp set, just looking at the stamps it's a shame I haven't inked them. I thought I could add to my birthday card stash with making a slim-line eclipse card.

I often wonder why I bought the bundle as none of the colours in the papers are my go to colours, but I do like going out of my comfort zone occasionally and this was one of those times.  I used my 2 inch Alpha dies to cut HAPPY, I find these cards are easier to make than they look, With the patterned paper you don't need a lot of embellishments. Leaves and flowers from the same set and some enamel dots from Dollar Tree.

A side view of the happy, I did cut a birthday sentiment to put on the lower right. The flower and leaf is on the lower left  corner.

Finished the inside with a layer of patterned paper that was a failed die cutting but it's still use-able and I have the alphas to use on something else. I had cut three sets of flowers and leaves but of couse the fro
nt was too busy to add more than one so they are added to the inside, Love this sentiment package I have really fits the Slim-line cards.

I am going to add tis to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Anything Goes

Happy Little Stampers ~~ April Anything Goes with Die

Cardz 4 Galz ~~ #144 Slimline card

Pink and Green is the Colour Challenge.

I have just recently found the challenge at Color Hues, This is my 5th time entering the challenge. I like the colour combo challenges as long as there are not 6 colours to try to work with. The challenge has also helped me make cards for my stash as they can be any theme as long as you use the colours.

I am not sure where the image is from, it is something I had printed from my digital images I needed a floral card to send to a friend that I just found out is in a nursing home and I wanted her to know I have been thinking of her. The Hello was cut three times and glued together for dimension.

As I was taking the picture of the inside my camera went a little wonky and the picture ended up fuzzy. Oh well IRL it is clear. Although I haven't used tis stamp in years, it is probably close to 20 years perhaps I needed to do something with it before I stamped.

Another Holiday Card to "Die" for.....

Since there was still some time to enter the Jingle Belles Rock Challenge and I had some spare time, (well I made time) I crreated  a card with dies, it was a fairly new die, 3 pieces and I used them all.  It was a very tedious job of poking all those bits out.

I am not sure what would possess me to use both metallic and glitter paper but I did and it is impossible to photograph, and I'm all set if I need to wear glitter to a dance.  Let it Snow is from Elizabeth Craft Designs and I cut it out o the glitter cardstock. If I ever make another (not with metallic posterboard) I know what not to do. I am pleased with the 5 1/4 inch square card.

I finished the inside with an off cut of glitter and a Stampendous sentiment.
