Holiday Cards to Die For

Wow it's the last day of March and I'm skinning in for March Rudolph Days with a card,  I know I want to make a card for each month I have from the 1st until the 25th to get one done, well why do I almost always end up with one the last day. "oh I have lots of days" , anyway here is what I came up with for this Month.

It's an ornament/saying set from Gina Marie Designs  and I just used the inspiration on the blog, The background embossing folder is "sequins" from Stampin'up. Red metallic posterboard is from Dollar Tree.

Close up to show the sparkle and for you to see I missed picking a piece of paper out of the "J", that will be fixed before I send it.

I finished the inside with a bit of embossing and some scraps of glitter and red metallic paper. the Sentiment is from Stampendous,

I am entering this in:

and because I use dies....

Here Comes Peter Cottentail...........

Easter is just around the corner and I'm still making Easter cards which is great as Shopping Our Stash has a new challenge "Here Comes Peter Cott
ontail"  focusing on Easter, Passover or Bunnies.

I made 6 ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) I have some Kinder Eggs and needed a little card to go with them for the two little girls next door and the two boys down the street that made cookies and cards for me and some other neighbours during the beginning of the pandemic, they also helped their Mom shovel my driveway for me in the winder. Two are also for my great grandsons. Chocolate bunnies for the boys and white bunnies for the girls. I don't often get to make girl cards so every chance I get Victoria and her sister get one.

Background was made with distress oxide ink, the bunny die is from Gina Marie Designs and the clouds are Impression Obsession die. Happy Easter is from an old Stampin'up tiny sentiment set. The grass is cut with a slimline landscape die.

Closer look at the girly white bunny card. I am hoping to make three more for the neighbour's grandchildren at the lake, give me a reason to have a drive on Saturday.
I am hoping to send small easel stands with these and a note to say they are collectables which fit in a hockey card holder.

I had a whole bunch of fun gluing all the little things, especially the clouds they are not very big at all.

Stash used.....bunny die at least 3 years old
cloud die set 4  or 5 years old
all bunnies and clouds were using scraps

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fantastic Easter to those who celebrate.

Along the Edge...........

Hello Family, Friends and Followers!! I'm back again with another skyline themed card, I love making these sunrise/sunset backgrounds. What is better? it's another masculine birthday card for my many guy cards I need, 3 down 3 to go.  This card came about when I saw AAA Cards  Game #186 Along the Edge and optional use only die cuts. I hadn't used the slimline skyline die yet and it was the first thing I thought of, I had to look for it, funny part was it is so narrow it got stuck to the side of the plastic container it was in and I kept missing it while looking. (story of my crafting life). I am very pleased to say it is all die cuts, layers front and inside and the city skyline, the sentiment is stamped.

Although I have deemed this a guy card I'm sure any lady would be just as happy with it.

I used a 110 pound base but lighter weight layers I'm sure if I mailed this it would cost more thought. I love these long images they work great for slimline cards.

I'm entering this in:
AAA Cards ~~~ Game #186 Along the Edge/opt. diecuts only.
I love that it is called a Game

The Holly and the Ivy..............

Are you singing the Christmas song?, I was humming as I typed.  I started planning my card a week ago, the stamp was on my desk waiting but it wasn't until Sunday I managed to get it going, which was just fine because Sketch Saturday's sketch is perfect for the image I chose. I haven't entered a Sketch Saturday challenge in quite a while.

Of coure I had to use Fluffles  hanging from the garland, which I coloured with my spica glitter pens.
I did a "flip" on the sketch but there is still a lot of "white" space left.

The holly space on the inside was a great idea but in the picture it looks like bats, close up it's holly and berries. I hope you are giggling as much as I am over that. A favourite sentiment on the inside.

I'm entering tis in:

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ The Holly and the Ivy

Happy Spring Equinox!!!

What a beautiful day here in SWO for the first day of Spring, sunny and getting warmer, I guess you would think I would be creating sunshine filled floral cards in bright colours.......nope had to try a new Fun Fold, (should call it a NOT fun fold) as when I saw Color Hues Black and White challenge I had my paper already picked and when I saw the fun fold I knew it worked for it. So here is my new fun fold card.

.

The fold is called and Arrow card fold and here is the video, It is an A2 size card, I have seen several other ones for different sized Arrow Fold cards too. I'm sure my problem with my card was the 110 pound black cardstock base it was too heavy but I thought since it was a single layer it needed more stability.
The paper I sued was from a Black & White 12X12 paper pad I bought many years ago at Dollarama I think it was the first one I ever saw there and it has some great designs. My leaf die cuts are just a couple of dies I had in my stash and the flower is from the Eyelet Outlet and brads. The black rhinestone from my halloween stash.

Open side view of how the inside is done.

I am adding this to:

Color Hues Challenge ~~ #14 Black & White

I love a black and white challenge.

Thanks for stopping by on this the first day of Spring enjoy the beautiful weather, the days are getting longer now and it's my favourite time of the year.

When a Sketch is Perfect!!!

Hello family, friends and followers, it's time for a new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and here to tell you all about it is one of Lee's famous graphics.

L is for Layers

Now I love layers the more the merrier but wow do they cost when you take them to the post office, When I saw Mojo Monday's sketch for March I knew it was perfect for what I wanted to do, although some of my layers are a bit off as my image was larger than the posted size. That is what is perfect about Mojo Monday the measurements are on the sketch. First I decided that it had to be a square card to fit everything.

First cut the three skyline dies in both black and white to offset for dimension I popped te middle line up and cut a frame which I elevated at the bottom but flat attached at the top. I blended three colours of Distress Oxide ink to make the sky. Then followed the sketch.

closer look at the buildings and sky

No snark today on my card, as I mentioned on my wolf post I have 6 masculine birthday cards to make every year for family this is #2 finished ready for giving (too heavy to mail) I love this sentiment and it works perfect for a "sun" card.

I'm entering this in;

Mojo Monday Sketch ~~ March

AAA Birthday Challenge ~~ Game 23 Patterned Paper

Thanks for stopping by today and head over and check out the rest of the project the design team have made for the challenge (there is snark) just click HERE.

Up, Up and Away...

Welcome to my blog today, Shopping Our Stash has a brand new challenge!! It's the Rainbow Connection. We want to see rainbows or rainbow colours on your project. When I planned my card it seemed rather easy to do but as I was working on it I knew it was going to be way too involved as I wanted to paper piece, please note....there was no paper piecing involved in the making of this card.

As the rainbow took up a fair amount of space and I wanted a dark layer I cut the base 4 inches by 8.50 inches. The card still fits in a #10 or business envelope. I started to make the background after watching a video, mine really didn't look like the video so I just blended two shades of DI ink over it and I really like the results, you can still sort of see the clouds but you can't. I used white foam core to cut the hot air balloons, I have had the die for a couple of years, and the clouds as well, The rainbow is fairly new but never been used before, it takes practice to line them up properly too. Hello was cut three times and glued together to give it dimension, which shows much better IRL.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'm looking forward to seeing your "rainbow connection" cards. Head over to the Main Blog and see the awesome rainbow themed cards the rest of the design team have made.

It is a Dark and Moonlit Night.............

My great grandson's 12th Birthday is today and he loves wolves, now it's not something I would make for a 12 yo but in this case it was perfect. His mom messaged me that he loved it and said "Whoa Grandma is talented" well that made my day.

I made a galaxy background and also used Distress Oxide  for the moon.  The wolf is from Gina Marie Designs and I think I might have used it before but I'm not sure, the evergreen line is new and it's the first time cutting with it. The main image was cut out of black foam core. As you see there is no sentiment on the front, it was too nice to add one.

I finished the inside with a couple of scraps of silver paper and some trees,  and a favourite sentiment along with the happy birthday from stampin'up.

I would like to enter this in:

Cardz 4 Guyz ~~ #266 for a Teenager

Happy Little Stampers ~~ Anything goes with Dies

Well I can cross the first masculine card off my list for this year, only 6 to go, every year I seem to struggle with what did I make last year, this year they are going in a folder so I can see what I made.  It's so much easier to make girlie cards.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fantastic week. Stay safe.

Three of a Kind

I'm not playing poker today I'm entering a challenge, just because I like to push myself do do something I am not really good at.......CAS. The Happy Little Stampers CAS challenge is Three of a Kind , I had the image cut for another challenge, I'm happy they found a home.

These thre bunny die cuts are adorable and just needed to be a slimline card (3.5 X 8.5 inches) The background behind the bunnies is a DI oxide background that was floating around, Because the bunny frame is white I did put a very tiny border so it can be seen as the layer is white as well. so sorry about those tiny stars but I had an opportunity to embellish (a missed pencil mark)  I added the pink ears, and after I inlaid them I though oh the nose then I saw the size, never happened.

Here is the inside, a Happy Easter die cut and a few little white bunnies in the grass which is a slimline die from a set of landscape dies.

I am entering this in:

I picked a favouite snarky AI girlfriend for my image as she looked like she had lots to say at a Zoom Meeting. I see I missed a spot of "hair colour" must fix that before it goes in the mail.

Now for the TIP

I can thank Pinterest for the sentiment and then I computer generated it.

Oh the Places You Will Go..............

After the pandemic is over!!  The crew at Shopping Our Stash is asking where you want to go when it's over? Easy one although I was over-thinking the prompt and finally settled on something just a tad easier.  For me I'm not interested in travelling, I have travelled a bit, Mexico, a cruise and Florida a few times, but there is one place I will be going.

The Beach!! well to the cottage, sand and water and cool drinks
I used one of my favourite stamps from House Mouse designs,  After making two "green" cards I needed some bright pink.  I cut the frame with Gina Marie Designs wonky rectangles.  Put wink of stella on the drink and fan, the sentiment is from a beach set of AI girlfriends.

Close up of the sentiment, still can't see the sparkle though.

I am entering this in:
House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ~~ Always Anything Goes Option Geometric shapes..
I guess a rectangle frame is a geometric shape.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the places the rest of the design team want to go,

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are Guest Elves at Christmas Kickstart!!!

Time for a new challenge at Christmas Kickstart and I'm one of the guest elves for this challenge.  Alas even being a snarky sister my card has no snark.

My inspiration for my card came from Pi
nterest offering me some pins I might be interested it, and one was perfect and I had the perfect set of dies to make it. So here it it.

Very simple but lots of picky gluing. I used a ornament embossing folder I received in a Christmas bundle from Cuttlebug. The ornament was cut in three colours although it's hard to see the very dark green on the base cut. The bow is from Pretty Pines set (I like tis bow it's the perfect size. The colours are handsome hunter, garden green and certainly celery. I elevated the ornament to for dimension.

Finished the inside with some stamped ornaments from a set I have never used from Stampin'up.  I am not sure why I have never used it before but I knew I had it to use. I use a glitter pen to draw the strings for the ornaments. The sentiment is one of my older ones but well used, from Impression Obsession.

You have a month to enter the challenge at Christmas Kickstart, don't forget to head over there and check out the rest of the Sisters cards. (some have snark)

Thanks for stopping by today and it's been fun guesting for Jo's challenge.
