Just Because......

Welcome to my blog today and are you ready to see the NEW challenge at Shopping our Stash? We want  you to dig in your stash and make a card Just Because you want to send a surprise hello or thinking of you for a friend. Everyone loves to get a card Just Because you are a thoughtful friend. Mine is for a friend I haven't heard from in a while and I hope it gives her a smile.

As you see I have been "working" from the lake, trouble is to get a good picture you only have a 2 hour time frame to get good sun. Working from the lake has a few disadvantages, one is if you forget a part for your project you have to improvise. I thought I had my large Hello die with me, I had 20 other dies but not Hello so Hugs just has to take it's place. I gorgeous Delicate Blossoms from Hero Arts, since I'm missing the packaging and google was no help I believe it's Circa 2010. I used a fairly new 3D folder (only one that was packed) I was really concerned my red inks were going to last as who would think to bring re-inkers? Hugs was die cut out of red metallic poster board and I layered it on two more heavy weight die cuts to elevate it.

Finished the inside with a couple of scraps and a Thinking of You die cut, of course leaving space to add my own sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see your Just Because card in our gallery at SOS.

It's Rudolph Days for August!!!

I have been spending some time at the cottage and quite often, okay very often have forgotten supplies, usually sentiments but it's a nice change of scenery and October will come too soon.  Since I brought my new 3D embossing folder and a Christmas die I needed to take the folder for a test drive. (need a shim), I often grab a bunch of scraps from the desk  to add to the collection I have here. So here is the finished very simple card.

As you can see the folder needs a shim but it was my first attempt embossing a 3D folder in the Cuttlebug. I added 3 silver glitter starform stickers for some extra shine

Finished the inside with a favourite sentiment and some scraps.

I can't believe I'm early for entering:

Rudolph Days ~~ August

Thanks for stopping by today and if you want to get a headstart on Holiday cards Rudolph Days from the 25th to the end of the month, so get crafting.

The Spirit of Christmas Past ~~ A Jingle Belles Story

Finally I managed to get a card done for the Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge, I just love their prompts every 2 weeks although sometimes I just don't "get 'er done".  Finally I had the opportunity to have a longer stay at the lake but with the longer time you need more "stuff" I only have so many duplicates, but I remembered my tonic cutter this week. I said to myself as I was packing don't forget the vanilla cardstock, and I did, so it was improvise time.

I used my PSX 94611 wood block stamp, there was no date on it but my other PSX stamp is dated 1999.  Stamped on white with memento tuxedo black and coloured with markers. Layered on red metallic posterboard and then on a top fold white base.

Finished the inside with a scrap of the metallic posterboard and as it never occurred to me to pack sentiments it is to be finished at home.

Of course I'm adding this to:

Jingle Belles Christmas Challenge ~~ The Spirit of Christmas Past

Thanks for stopping by today and you still have until Wednesday at 6 p.m. EDT  to get a project done, (ps there is a prize)

It's a Colour Challenge!!!

Hello and welcome to a NEW challenge at Shopping Our Stash and it is a Colour Challenge.

Since I was shopping my stash I managed to find scraps that filled the bill, I know I am out of crumb cake but managed to find a 1/4 sheet of it even the patterned paper was a scrap that just fit perfect. So the requirements are Feature the three colours, neutrals are allowed and of course use your stash.

Finally my first time in 2024 to take a picture at the lake and it's overcast and it seems my photo skills are lacking too, but no time to have a do-over. The dsp is from Stampin'up and ancient, I am positive that is the last of the paper.

The finished inside of the card and I didn't have a birthday sentiment stamp with me, not surprised as I even forgot my tonic cutter AGAIN and the fiskers is so hard to read.

I am adding this to:

Seize the Birthday ~~ #289 Anything Goes.

Thanks for spending time here today don't forget to check out how the rest of the design team have used the colours.

The Jingle Belles are serving Holiday Leftovers.

The theme at the Jingle Belles is Holiday Leftovers, not the eating kind the extras and scraps from making holiday cards and a lot of them are probably on your desk. I collected some and planned on getting busy on the weekend and technically it's still my weekend, I'm heading home in the morning.

here is the pile I collected although I didn't use all of them.

As you might notice the patterned paper wasn't in the photo that is because I found it here at the cottage. The Happy Holidays I inked with a green marker and the cute owl is popped up.

Close up of the owl.

I'm adding this to:

Jingle Belles  ~~ Holiday Leftovers

Christmas Kickstart Challenge ~~ #89 Animal Antics.

Thanks for stopping by today and there is still time to get in on any or all of the 3 challenges.

Summertime............and the living is easy.

Well did you sing along? It's the first Saturday of a new month so the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is having a new  challenge so here is our beloved Edna to show you all about it.

As you see S is for Summer so let's give it our best "shot" and here is mine.

Nothing more Summer than laying on a blanket with an umbrella on the beach listening to the waves rolling in.  Since I am trying to keep things a bit simpler I decided not to use an image that was too intricate to colour and since I chose the super cute happy hopper i just couldn't add any snark. I  attempted to make a beachy background with distress oxide inks on watercolour paper I really like the paint flicking part to make it look like sand. I added a couple of Eyelet Outlet  sea shell brads, a cloud from my odds box. I flat attached the blanket/bunny but popped the umbrella up.

I suppose you are thinking "what the heck, a Christmas sentiment" well it's a dual purpose one as my card is for the Physio girl that is going on vacation.

I am entering this in

Thanks for stopping by and check out the MAIN BLOG I'm sure there will be some great summer snark there.
