Challenge time at The Cheerful Stamp Pad #61

A new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad, My Kind of Gal sponsored by Stitchy Bear’s Outlet-Gingerloft. the image I chose to work with is a cute girlie butterfly and there isn’t a more girlie colour than PINK. I seem to be using a lot of pink lately. I coloured the image with pencil crayons and oms, mounted it on a Fleur dis lis die cut and the background is Hero Arts polka dot which I inked in Brilliance Coral and embossed it with Silver Pearl ep from Ranger. Pink rhinestones and stickles on the wings make them sparkle.

Drunken Stampers challenge #129 Hangover…the movie

Okay here I am again another movie I haven’t seen, not Hangover 1, or 2 and now Hangover 3 is in the theatre. So I went with a Las Vegas theme as it says in the challenge rules you will find at the Drunken Stampers challenge Blog. Check them out and join in the fun for the  Hangover challenge.

Here is my card for the challenge, as a lot of you know I am not one that likes to distress and boy is this one distressed. I bought the 3 TH card embossing folders at Scrapfest with the challenge in mind. I used the TH core’nations cardstock and sanded them, then took my handy, dandy scissors and distressed the edges, mounted them on a page from a stack pad, but you can’t see much of it. I then mounded it on a black base.

New Week, New Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday

Hi everyone….hope you had a fabulous first long weekend of the year. We celebrate the Queen’s birthday or Victoria Day on the weekend before the 24th of May. In Woodstock there is a parade but we came to the cottage to enjoy the weekend. I am limited to what I can do here as I only have dial up and crossing my fingers this blog will post without a lot of trouble.
The challenge at Clear it Out is Critters and the stash item is earth-tones. The two sponsors for the challenge are Digi Darla and QKR. I used a Digi Darla image of a giraffe.

How I love taking pictures on the porch by my clematis, it give such a fabulous background. I finished my card and thought hmm it needs something more, of course I didn’t bring  a lot of things with me but I found some buttons that would work. I think they really did  too.

Mid-Challenge time at Clear it Out Tuesday

I hope all the Moms had a fabulous Mother’s Day on Sunday, the weather here in SWO was cool with a few showers. Our family arrived in the morning and we all went out for Brunch at the community center in St. Williams Ontario, every Mom gets a flower and it is so great to have family together.
The Mother’s Day Challenge is still on at Clear it Out head over there to check out the rules for winning. You can make a project for a female but it must use two or more patterned papers from your stash.

I coloured the image with pencil crayons and oms, fussy cut so the flower’s flowed off the border. I used earth tones for the base and the layer behind the image. I embossed the blue with a butterfly embossing folder. Now what is more natural than the colours of the earth, the sky and butterflies.

Mid Challenge Time at The Cheerful Stamp Pad

Another week to play along with us at The Cheerful Stamp Pad for the April showers bring May flowers. It is so nice to see the daffodils and tulips out is bloom. The weather over the weekend was beautiful what was even nicer was we spent it at our cottage. The first trip down you find out those little things you didn’t pack, that is when the “list” gets started. I bought some beautiful peameal bacon for Sunday breakfast and when I got back to the cottage I found out I had forgotten to bring the eggs. Bacon on a bun was delicious.

My image is from Floppy Latte Digital Designs and is Daisies in a frame. I wanted to make the card nice and bright so I used daffodil delight and the embossed back ground has birds and leaves and it feels so much like spring.

How about a tall, cool glass of Lemonade?

The challenge at House Mouse and Friends Monday challenge is Weather, I chose a nice sunny day at the beach sipping on a tall, cool glass of lemonade. The image was coloured with prismacolour pencils and odourless mineral spirits. I used some diamond stickles on the glass and covered the ice cube with paper glaze.

The challenge at House Mouse and Friends closes a midnight Saturday, this week I had a few days “free” and hoped to craft but a dear friend of mine passed away and the crafting was put on the back burner for a few days. She will be missed by so many people.
