It's November and time for a new challenge at the Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge Anything Goes + optional Make a Scene.
I love making scenes for cards, I mae halloween ones this year and I have a few stamps to make into scenes but for this one I use a very old favourite of mine from Penny Black, I use it at least once every Christmas season and this is the time.
I have been working on this card for weeks it seems, the houses die cut in my "parts" box, I cut three light standards to glue together and the image stamped then the transition from cottage to home happened. Time to get everything together, where are my light die cuts? can't find them cut 3 more next morning I sit to craft nd what is sitting in a basket on my rolly cart? the dies, well now I have spares. I cloured some vellum to put between two of the layers of lights. Made the sunset background, cloured the penguins with spica glitter pens, fussy cut and popped them up. Layerd it on a piece of metallic posterboard (dollar tree) then added that to a 3 1/4 X 6 1/4 base to make a Mini Slimline Card.
Close up of the super cute carollers.
For the inside I used a strip of the blue metallic posterboard and a Stampendous Cling mount sentiment.
Couple of Challenges I'm entering this in:

What a sweet scene, Barb, I love the caroling penguins. Thanks for playing at Christmas Kickstart, Jo x
ReplyDeleteThe singing penguins are so cute, Barb! I have some singing cats that would work well with this card design so I might have to CASE your card. I'm sure I have a lamp post die in my stash too. Like you, sometimes I can take days (or weeks) to work on a card, but somehow in the end it all comes together. Beautiful work! Have a fun, crafty weekend, my friend!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Barb - I did grin abut the 'lost lamps' I did exactly the same a week or so ago with some fussy b cut holly berries for paper piecing. Gave up searching and stamped and cut more. Next day - there they were behind my chair! The singing penguins is one of my most loved stamps here - so joyful. And I love that you created a scene behind them as well.
