The Dreaded "ONE LAYER" card!!!

Challenge #399 at Shopping Our Stash is the "dreaded one layer card" and I am NOT a fan but I put that aside and made one.

I must admit I made one card and when I added it to the blog I didn't like it at all, If I had done some thinking about it I would have done a better job. I made an A2 top fold card, taped the edges and the base to my teflon mat and used distress oxide ink, using a Tim Holtz stencil and texture paste I did an fair job with it, I do need more practice. The stencil is about 3 years old or more.

Close up to show how it pops up. I really like this and will made a wonderful Birthday, Get Well or a Sympathy card.

Next is the "fail" card, it will be much better when I cut it and layer it. but for now it's a one layer card.

Again not thinking ahead I used what I had on hand which is mostly Christmas stamps, this one is a "Fluffles" stamp long retired from Stampendous. I have lots of Fluffles and they are in a variety of occasions even one I make into a "red hat" lady.  I coloured the image with Spica Glitter pens even darkened the verse.

Close up of the super sweet image.

Ancient products used....Jingle all the Way Fluffles and the glitter pens at least 10 years old.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and see the awesome one layer cards the rest of the design team have made. (much more ingenious than mine)

  3. Admittedly I am in LOVE with what you've done with that texture paste....but the "mistake" card is also awesome, you've created the illusion of layers with your borders, I think you did a FAB job sistah!!

Your boo boo card is super adorable, and yes, you created the illusion of layers with those score lines, awesome job.
