Here is how it stands alone.
First I dug out a Stampin'up stamp set, a beautiful you, I bought it a year ago at last year's Sale-a-bration (so I could get another stamp set free that I've never used) now that's digging in my stash. the patterned paper is from a pack (I bought two one in pretty colours one in neutrals) over a year ago at $$rama. I paper pieced the dress and hat.
Paper piecing was quite the adventure, the patterned paper is very light weight and while fussy cutting I not only cut a sleeve off once I did it twice, I thought you learn from your mistakes?
The sentiment is on the back center panel.
See how it closes to fit in an A2 envelope

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card! Love that stamp, AND you fussy cut and have it on a fancy fold card! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Barbara, super image and cool folding, love the colour too
ReplyDeleteWow, Barb, such a cool card style! I will have to check out the tutorial on your friend's blog - thank you for the link! Your paper-piecing looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen that stamp used before, and WHOA, your use of it is gorgeous!!!! And let me just commiserate - fussy cutting, ugh, those sleeves do look tricky. But so worth it for this amazeballs card!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun card type.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and love the lady image.
I did have a wee chuckle at you cutting the sleeve off.....twice.
Barbara, you are so inspiring-- you always try new things and end up with the coolest cards! This is wonderful. Your lady is totally elegant, and way to go on paper-piecing her dress! Whenever I paper-piece a dress I feel like I am playing with paper dolls and I love it!!! Great project.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that there was a national dress day! But this card sure is a great example of how to do it right. Love that you shared this with us at Seize the Birthday. Hope to see you again.
