I found a sketch at CAS Colours & Sketch (I just might be in time to enter this) I wanted something that gave lots space to show off the technique which is very simple, container that is big enough for your paper, couple of centimeters of water, scrape some vibrant coloured chalks (I used some SU chalks) then put the cardstock in it lift up and let dry. Hello is a cuttlebug die plate I've had for more years than I can remember. An oval and a butterfly from a package from the $$ store.
Closer look at the floating chalk background.
Another angle, there are lots of tiny specks of chalk on it, doesn't really show that well.
I would like to enter this in
NBUS challenge #7 chalks have been hanging around for 4 years and never used
CAS Colours and Sketch #188 I flipped the sketch.
Thanks for visiting today and head over to the SOS blog and see what different techniques the rest of my teamies have done.

Wonderful card! I love the background (I'll have to check out that technique). Thanks for playing along with us at CC&S!
ReplyDeleteSeriously? This is a new one on me, Barb, and, like you said, very intriguing! And very beautiful! It looks like you watercolored it, but this is way easier. I will be bookmarking this, for sure. Thank you for the inspiration and thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #7! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty colors! And the glittery butterfly is a great focal point for such a soft background.
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome background and a great choice of colours there. The butterfly is really pretty too, but I keep being distracted by the background - I'm going to have to read up on that technique. And buy some chalks! Thanks so much for joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches this week. Liz x
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card and fun technique.
ReplyDeleteI love the butterfly and love the "hello" die.
