This is a very, very difficult blog post today, it's been a tough few days since we found out that Leslie, the creator of Shopping Our Stash passed on Christmas Day. Although I have only known her on-line since she accepted my resume in December 2013, I feel like I have known her forever. The challenges she came up with were fabulous and sometimes took me way out of my comfort zone. Leslie was a fabulous cardmaker, queen of CAS cards, I was in awe of them as I'm not particularly good at them. Please read some of the rest of the design team favourite cards as they will give you more insight into Leslie. The card I selected for my favourite is one she made for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper challenge blog (she played often) in August for the Image only challenge. You can see the blog post

Leslie will be missed by so many friends whether they are on line or in real life.
Barbara, I love your card choice...I almost chose this one as well. Leslie had such a large body of work I am sure choosing was difficult for us all. You and I are lucky, we were the last ladies chosen by Leslie to join her little band of "crazies." I always felt honored by that. She must have seen a little something of her in us, and even if she didn't, she was able to inject a little something of her approach to card making and card challenges into us and we are better for it. Your words are perfect and Leslie is smiling!

Great card choice Barb. UGH...these posts are just as hard to read as they are to write. I know somewhere Leslie is smiling and maybe rolling her eyes just a little

I was saddened to read of Leslie's sudden passing as well. This is a beautiful card. Sending hugs.
ReplyDeleteLeslie and I just became email buddies over the last year, yet I am shocked and saddened by her death. Perfect card choice and tribute to her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great card to remember her by. We were lucky to have been chosen by Leslie to be on the SOS DT. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about the loss of your friend :(
