A Design Team Favourite ~~~ Steampunk

Edna is dressed in her steampunk attire to invite you to join the "Steampunk revolution"

Hello family, friends and followers, I missed the last two challenges at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and I hope I'm back on track, I know we all have times where we have lost our mojo, but this spell for me has been a long one. Even though I'm not overly fond of making steampunk I always get something done and I loved making this one for my oldest son.

It is quite simple but a lot of work was put into it, I used the gears embossing folder from Cuttlebug, embossed it on a heavyweight black cardstock and used a Metallic rub-on set I have had for eons  I watched a 2010 Jennifer Maguire how to video and decided to give it a whirl. The Model T Ford die was cut out of black twice, glued together after I had used the metallic rub-on cream, I added some pop dots to give it some dimension.  The Happy Birthday die was cut 3 times and glued together and flat attached.

A close up to show the dimension.

The inside was finished with an appropriate sentiment.

Now I didn't mention that when I planned on the metallic rub-on technique I started out with a smaller piece of cardstock and when I was happy I had a handle on how to get messy I set it aside and I was so happy with the technique I finished the test piece into a mini slimline card which will be for my grandson's birthday on Monday.

Same technique, same birthday die but I added a hot air balloon die cudt, I cut 3 and glues them together but only the top layer has the metallic qax on it.

Finished the inside with a favourite Hero Arts sentiment.

I'm entering this in:

Seize the Birthday ~~ Make it Pop (the car is popped up)

AAA Birthday Challenge ~~#49  Balloons (just found this challenge again, awesome)

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to check out the rest of the the steampunk projects the rest of the design team have made.

You're So Sweet!!

Welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash and the theme is You're so Sweet which I'm sure you have already guessed we want to see something sweet on your project, Cake, Fruit, Icecream (yum),  Lots of choices and I went with two favourites House Mouse and  Jelly Beans. (although Jelly belly is my fav.)

I made a fun fold, now when I started this card I had the image stamped and coloured with a wink of stella on the "beans" it didn't work with the paper I had chosen so I changed plans so it's the first of my stash usage, My second stash usage is the daffodil delight from SU it was the second last piece in my CS holder. Another item is the patterned paper, both designs very ancient , Sweet was diecut stwice and layered for a bit of hight.

Here is the card open, very hard to get a good picture of it but it stands on it's own quicte nicely. Three Happy die-cuts and a birthday that is almost visible and the sentiment is from a Sale-a-bration flyer quite a few years ago and only the second time it's seen ink (it works really well for this fun fold.

This is a Double Z fold card, and this shows why it's called a double z .

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by today and get your sweet on and link your "sweet" project to the Shopping Our Stash gallery.

She's a Lady

The new challenge at Shopping Our Stash is "She's a Lady" we want to see a lady on your project, It should have been very easy to make a card with a Lady on it, but I struggled with picking our colours, now that's a new one.  Here is what I finally decided on.

I shopped my stash with this 2017 Occasions catalogue from Stampin'up, the images on the 2 box set are just meant to be paper pieced. I used the sweet pea 3D embossing folder for my background and the cardstock has been in my stash for years, the Happy Birthday (hero arts) is also very dated but a favourite.

Closer look a the paper piecing.

Finished the inside with a scrap of patterned paper and an Impression Obsession sentiment.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the Design Team have made.

Trim the Tree with Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.

It's hard to believe it's May already, our weather in South Western Ontario has not been very May-like, we had an April snowstorm and now we are getting April showers for the 3rd r 4th day but since we are very much an agricultural area the farmers need the rain for the crops. Well on to our new monthly challenge.

Lots of different ways to interpret the optional part of the challenge or just go with anything goes as long as it's Christmas, we just aim to keep you on track with your holiday card stash. Here is what I made with the option of Trim the Tree.

I used a Fluffles image he is working hard on trimming the tree (teehee). After I picked the image I chose my patterned paper I knew I wanted one with ornaments but now looking at it I'm not so sure I should have used such a dark paper, perhaps looking at it tomorrow I will be happier.

I coloured te image with alcohol marker and added a wink of stella to the star, ornaments and base.

I added a bit of patterned paper and an Impression Obsession Sentiment.

Another month another holiday card finished, how is your stash growing?

Thanks for visiting today and I would love to see your Holiday creation in our gallery.
