Time for Presents!!

Almost time for Christmas but I still have a birthday left for the year (not mine) so I decided to take time out from making my "new year" cards or "winter" cards for some I still need to send and make a birthday card with present on it for Challenge #486 at Shopping Our Stash is Time for Presents.

I decided to use one of my "dual" images, it can be used for many occasions and I have made it for both birthday and Christmas. This is a Stampedous image of Happy Hoppers I have a few of the bunnies and also the Gruffies (bears) The image was stamped in a pile of "waiting to be coloured" images. The image and layers were cut with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched and scalloped die sets.  Hero Arts happy birthday was cut with the original spellbinders circle dies.

Finished the inside with a Stampendous "Fran's" Sentiment, that no matter how I work with it I never get it perfectly straight.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the Main Blog and check out the rest of the Design Team's projects, then dig in your stash and make a "present" card.

Naughty or Nice.............that is the question!!!

Edna is getting her presents ready for the Sisterhood and is asking Naughty or Nice? We want to see your Naughty or Nice projects.

What is naughtier than a Snarky Cat? Nothing I can think of so I stamped, coloured and fussy cut one and a bunch of presents, (the bows were a challenge) Because of the "gung ho" in stamping so many pressies I made a full slimline card, and it gave me more room to use many snarky sentiments too.

Finished the inside with a Hero Arts sentiment and of course another snarky sentiment to boot.

I will add this to:

Holly and Ivy

Hello friends, it's a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, Holly and Ivy which means use Christmas plants, and greenery (trees, poinsettias, boughs and mistletoe and of course Holly which is the winning greenery. I did look at poinsettias and mistletoe but when I saw an already printed image I knew I needed to do it (a friend loves Cardinals) And voila another Holiday card done. And my stash item is the image, and the plaid scrap.

I am not sure who's digi this is as it was already printed, I have made the same image as a Birthday card but just added flowers where the holly is. This is a 5 1/2 inch square card and the focal point is elevated.  Joy is flat attached.

Close up of the Cardinal pair.

Finished the inside with a couple of leftover scraps and a Hero Arts sentiment circa 2002 one of my first holiday sentiments. I love the font.

Adding this to:

Jingle Belles wrap up post ~~ add your last minute cards.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the holiday foliage cards the rest of the design team have made to inspire you to join the challenge.

A Stenciling we will Go!!

Hello fellow crafters it's time for the December Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge and it is always  anything goes with an option.

As you see it's optional to use a Stencil, I must admit I am not a stencil person, I have the equipment (although plan "A" required texture paste which was totally hard and not usable) So of course on to plan "B" which was a "fail" next in line was plan "C" also a fail, I gave up for the day I had been working for 2 days on this stencil prompt, so even though I was really late I trudged on, a good night's sleep with ideas roaming around in my dreams I set up for plan "D" and I am happy I just didn't go with the anything goes theme.

As I said earlier I am not particularly fond or good at stenciling but I dug out the winter trees stencil it is a large one so I made a Slimline Card 3.5 X 8.5 inches. I blended some distress inks to look like a sunrise/sunset  added some deer and of course some cardinals. I then layered it on a navy stardream layer and I diecut the words from the same cardstock.

Closer look although you can't see how shiny the sentiment is/

Finished the inside with a stampendous sentiment I found while looking for my pallet knives, it has a bend in it and wouldn't stick to the block, Anyone know how to flatten it out?

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to look at the main blog to see the fabulously stenciled creations the rest of the design team have made.  This is the last Christmas challenge for 2022 come back in 2023 (check the blog for the date)

It's a Banner Day!!

The last Jingle Belle Rock challenge of the year is Banner Holiday, it's one of my favourite challenges too and I'm sneaking it in with one day to spare (better than last challenge) I haven't been keeping up with a lot of Challenges, there never seems to be time to craft, but today I made time the dishes can wait.  the challenge is to design a card using the Jingle Belles Blog Banner as inspiration....Here is mine.

I made a mini slimline card and used die cuts from Boss Cuts, Gina Marie, Impression Obsession and a mini stamp from Stampendous along with the background music freebie from the Jingle Belles.

Close up of Santa (looking for good points)

The inside was finished with a favouite Hero Arts sentiment (a prize from the Jingle Belles a couple of years ago) , of course while die cutting there are always extra so used a few on the inside.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for stopping by to see what I have been crafting.

Q is for Queen!!!

Hello everyone!! it's a brand new challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers ~~ Q is for Queen!!

Edna our Queen

To tell the truth I really stretched the theme this time I have only one digi stamp related to a Queen and I'm sure I've used it multitude of times for the Q prompt. So while searching my many, many digi folders I came across an image that I thought would work so at last minute I decided to make it into an Artist Trading Card (hindsight I should have made a set, but there is still time)

I fussy cut the image and flat attached it the sentiment also came with it, which was the reason I chose the image. I also had the perfect paper from "Simple Stories". Found some teal rhinestones for the "crown and earring".

Close up of the card, check out the crowns on the paper, and of course the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the much better representation of the theme at the Main Blog.

Shine Bright like a Diamond.....

There is a new challenge up at Shopping Our Stash and it's Shine Bright Like a Diamond , a couple of choices Bling it up and or use something that gives you light. I chose Birthday Candles and lots of them.

I have had this House Mouse stamp for a long time and I used it once before and it was also a birthday card, it could e used for a Christmas one and I have a stamped image ready to make it too. The sentiment is a "one liner" from Hero Arts, way back when, I think I bought all the one line stamps, I have at least 6 and maybe more I haven't used them in a while, I'm pretty sure that's is the last piece of blue cardstock from SU I have in my stash.

Nothing cuter than a close-up of the mice singing a birthday ditty.

Finished the inside with a very old stamp from the Artful Stamper, you know you are really digging your stash wen you use wood mount stamps.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out more shiny things.

Better Late than not getting it Done

Last week got away from me, too many appointments crammed into one week and I ran out of time to get a card done for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge, it was planned and on my desk but way too little time, I have deemed Wednesdays my crafting day from now on, lets hope it works.

As you see Edna has made herself into a juvenile for this challenge, you decide which way you want to interpret  Juvenile.

Of course I pulled out my Tim Holtz Snarky Christmas Cats, I coloured and fussy cut the image and added it to a evergreen branch, the sentiment is from the same set.

Just a close up of the bad kitty.

Finished the inside with some leftover scraps and a perfect sentiment from Stampendous.

I want to add this to.....

Jingle Belles Rock Challenge ~~ Funny Ho Ho (closes at 6 p.m._

Thanks for stopping by today and hop on the Holiday card train and get them done. You can see the rest of the teams Juvenile cards HERE.

It's still Trees, Trees, Trees at Christmas Kickstart Challenge.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are guest elves at Christmas Kickstart Challenge for this month and since I was having trouble with the die set I went with plan C but I was determined to make my die cuts into a card.

As you know by my first post for the challenge I had die cuts I wanted to make into a tri-fold card and couldn't figure it out and of course the "C" plan was (I thought) very involved but I found a very good video on how to make a Shadow Box card, you can find it HERE.

Here is my first attempt.

Each die section is 4 3/4 inches wide so I cut each one individually to use as layers, the card folds flat to put in an envelope.

Closer look to see the layers.

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't already joined the fun at Christmas Kickstart for the Trees, Trees,Trees, challenge it's time to dig out the tree dies or stamps or both and enter, there is a prize this challenge too.

Frills and Flowers and Buttons and Bows!!

You might get a clue from the "old" song lyric at what the challenge is but I'll explain it just the same  Shopping Our Stash is creating with  "old school" favourites like... Buttons, ribbons, brads,  eyelets something you haven't done in a long while.  I looked through some of my cards and realized I haven't used ribbon in "gasp" over a year and I have no clue why not I have two buckets of ribbon, it all needs re-oranizing. So I picked a 11 inch scrap to use for my card.

I love this Gina Marie wreath die and use it a lot, in fact made one not long ago in Blue and Silver and I knew I wanted to make a few more in other colours to boost my holiday stash. So other than the ribbon the rhinestone brad is ancient and I found the tutorial on how to make the bow HERE.  The patternd paper is also years old, not sure where I got it or the make it was a package deal.

Close up look at the bow and brad.

Finished the inside of the 5 1/2 inch square card with a favourite Hero Arts sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and get out your "old school" stuff and make us a card. Don't forget to check out the Main Blog to see some fabulous old school  "embellies."

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge ~~ November

Hello friends it's time for the November challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas challenge as always it's Anything Goes with the option of Santa.

The holidays will soon be sneaking up on us and now is the time to get busy with those holiday cards or you will not have enough hand crafted cards for your friends and family, and yes I'm just the same, I haven't been making as many as other years so it's time to step up the pace.
For my design team card I decided to use a very old wood mount stamp from Stampa Rosa/PSX  vintage Santa, so much colouing I  took lots of breaks to get it finished.

I love this stamp but I usually only make one each holiday season. I die cut it with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched rectangle, layered it on red scalloped die cut from EC then on a gold layer cut with EC rectangle postage stamp die. For the sentiment I added a gold Noel which seemed to fit the image well.

Finished the inside with a favourite Hero Arts vertical sentiment and a couple of scraps left from the front of the cared.

Thanks for visiting today and head over to the Main Blog to check out the rest of the "Santa" cards that were created to inspire you to join in the challenge. Just a reminder Holiday time is sneaking up on us and if you don't have enough holiday cards to send it will be chaos in December, Now is the time to get a few more done.

Trees, Trees, Trees

Good morning friends, the Sisterhood of Snarky stampers has been invited to GDT for Christmas Kickstart #68 Trees, Trees, Trees,

I am playing "catch-up" I have been to Newfoundland, Canada for two weeks, this was the last of the provinces I have never been, of course there is still Labrador and the territories. I did nothing but tour and relax, because we drove it was a long journey and it took me a couple of days to get caught up on sleep.

So franticly trying to get a card done wasn't going well, my first plan didn't materialize (didn't locate the die, second shot was to make a trifold with a trio of dies....nope was having trouble putting it together, next thought with the set was going to take more engineering than I had time for.....so a coloured and diecut image was sitting on my desk so voila' I had a viable plan. How many of my fellow crafters have days like that?

I just love Fluffles stamps they have been retired but were made by Stampendous. As you see the tree ornaments are a hot pink as this image was slated for a card for the Jingle Belles Rock Pink Christmas. I added to a red picoted edged die cut and on to some Tree patterned paper. The sentiment is cut form some shiny red cardstock from Michaels

Close up of Fluffles and the TREE.

Finished the inside with a cute sentiment and some left-over papers.

I couldn't forget Edna in her Guest Elf hat she goes everywhere with the Sisterhood.

I'm adding this to:

Beccy's Challenges ~~ A Month of Holiday Cards

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget to check out Christmas Kickstart and the rest of SoSS guest designer's cards. Now is the time to step up the Holiday card production and what better way than to enter the challenge.

H is for Halloween

Hello friends it's time to get those Halloween steamps and dies out and join the challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Normally I would do a Pink Halloween card but I'm Pinked out right now.

I used a digital image from Bugaboo Stamps (no longer in operation) masked the card and blended two shades of distress inks for the moon, The large bat and the spider are plastic pieces I found in my stash box. The Patterned paper is from Bo Bunny Fright collection which works great for the 5 1/2 inch square card.

I finished the inside with some left over scraps of paper and a computer generated sentiment.

No snark with this card but if you head over to the Main Blog you will see some that the rest of the design team have made.
Thanks for visiting and have a lovely Halloween.

Just GOOGLE it!!!

Are you ready for a really fun challenge? Sure you are!! Shopping Our Stash #482 is Just Google it!! so lets dig out those googlie eyes and create. I had the perfect image printed I don't know the digi artist but I will search.  When I saw the challenge I thought perfect, oh my I think I gave away my googlie eyes but I checked my craft tackle box (from my finger puppet days) and there were 4 sizes and even coloured one.  so here is my card for the challenge.

Plaid paper on my table, was my inspiration for the design, it's a Triangle Easel Card, when I'm in a hurry I find this fold is fast, just be accurate on the cutting

Close up of the super cute Christmas owl, those are the largest of the googlie eyes I have and they fit perfect.

This card is a 5 1/2 inch square card and folds flat for mailing. I did put a sentiment on the inside behind the folded triangle.
Oh yes my stash busting was just about everything to make this card with the exception of the die cut Tis' the Season. The Googlie eyes are probably 25 years old.

There you have seen my project for Just Google It now get busy and add yours to the gallery, it you want lots more inspiration head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out the rest of the design team's projects.
