You're an Oldie......

Are you ready for a new Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers? Sure you are and so is Edna, she is ready to announce the theme.

I don't think Edna's disguise is working the way she planned.

On to my a bit snarky card,

Sorry for the dreadful picture, combination of shiny car and very dull day, but if it was sunny the picture might have been even harder to take. I can't even tell you how long I have worked on parts for this card, The car was cut out of heavy black cardstock and gold mirror cardstock and glued together for a bit of dimension and stability and tucked away in my ever expanding "bits" box. Then there was a challenge at Let's Squash it for embossing folder and masculine card, well that didn't happen but that's where the idea of the gears EF came from. Finally putting everything together I cut gold, silver and copper gears some are flat attached some popped up. The sentiment is from Class Act and I stamped with versamark watermark ink and embossed in gold on black, cut it up and flat attached.

A closer look at the embossed background and the car.

.
Finished the inside with a piece of leftover embossed black strip and a few extra gears along with a sentiment from Penny Black.

Thanks for spending some time reading my blog today and head over to the Main Blog and check out what the rest of the team have made. Then get your crafty supplies out and get a masculine card made you don't have to have snark on it.

WTHeck Embellishments!!

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash this is a good one for most of us.  Have you gone through your stash lately and picked up some things and immediately asked yourself "why did I buy this?" well this is the challenge for you. Take that :WTHeck item and feature it on a project. I didn't have any difficulty with finding things I've been gathering for YEARS, I have more brads than any one person could ever use in 3 lifetimes and lately I have not been using I guess since those stick-on enamel dots were available and much easier to use, but for my project I did have to use brads, but that is not my WTHeck item, have a look you might remember them.

Tin box and there they are still in their cello package.

Flower Fusion from Stampin'up and I rarely use those colours. And I know there will be lots of readers that are saying how great they are, and love the colours.

So on with how I made them look good.

When I ordered some things from a friend she tucked in the two piece layering die set as a freebie and I immediately grabbed some cardstock and cut it then tucked it away for safe keeping, so when I saw the theme I knew it was perfect for the base of my Flower Fusion felt flowers. I made an oxide ink smooshed background and since the die cut was 5.5 inches I decided to make a mini slimeline card. I also went through many many any containers of brads to use as centers and decided the gold gave them a bit of pizzazz

Closer look at the flowers.

Finished the inside with a scrap of green and a felt flower.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the SOS BLOG and check out the WTHeck embellishments the rest of the team have used.

This Blog is going to the Dogs..........

Hello and here we are again half way through July, wow can you believe that? Summer so far has been comfortable except not enough rain for the farmers. So it's the 15th of July and it's time for a new challenge at A Tiny Craft (ATC) Challenge and it's Dogs or Cats the choice is yours. Since I've been doing a lot of cats lately I went with dogs, as I have only used one of the stamps in this set once the rest have been unused until now. It was also the first cutting for the Dog House.

First I stamped Crumb Cake with Versafine Sepia in using the Hardwood background stamp from Stampin'up and cut them out with a doghouse die, the roof was cut 3 times and glued together for a bit of dimension, The bone is also from the dog house set. The dogs and bowls were stamped and fussy cut after colouring and both are popped up. Backgrounds are made by smooshing watercolour paper  with distress oxide inks and water

Now on to some individual photos.

The doghouse and bone are flat attached.

What a cutie pie.

I call him "spot"

Now because the set is only 3 dogs and I wanted 4 cards I had to duplicate one dog, tried to make him look different

Since bowl and two dogs and the doghouse set were used for the first time I'm entering this in.

Thanks for stopping by today and check out the MAIN BLOG to see who picked dogs and who picked cats, you will be surprised, then pick cats or dogs and enter out ATC challenge.

Birthday Wishes

I needed a Birthday card for Tuesday and I've been on a roll with Ink Blending since Shopping Our Stash has a Blending Challenge going on and I was quite impressed with Lauren's offering for the challenge, she dry embossed her inky layer so I had to give it a go. Now since I was planning on using an embossing folder I checked out the almost new challenge "Let's Squash it" it is CAS so what you see next is MY idea of CAS.

I used a Cuttlebug asian (cherry blossom) folder on my blended background added some wild flowers and a simple Happy Birthday which is two heavy weight cardstock pieces clued together for a tiny bit of dimension.

A closer look at the embossing.

Since I didn't have any scrap left from the front piece I blended the inks as a base for a third wild flower, and one of my favourite sentiment.

I am adding this to.

Christmas in July?

Good morning, am so late with my card I just happened to be in the Rogers power outage starting early Friday morning and just reconnecting at 9 a.m. on Saturday so we will have a short post today as it isn't even on the SoSS blog as I type. First the graphic announcing the challenge.

Pretty hunky Santa Edna is entertaining, thanks Lee.

I used one of the Snarky Christmas Cats, coloured, fussy cut and grounded him with a present added them to a snowy scene using up a bunch of scraps as well, The winter sky is a scrap of smooshed background (it had JOY stamped on it so they had a huge snowfall there) Sentiment from the same set.

Close up of the snarky cat showing all my mistakes. He really looks like he is saying What Milk? What Cookies? doesn't he.

Finished the inside with a couple more presents (the scrap of cardstock was large enough to stamp 3 and the sentiment) no waste. and a Stampabilities vertical stamp (a fav. of mine) I layered the sentiment on the black as it was sitting on my desk, another scrap filled card.

I will be adding this to:

Blending In

Challenge #474 at Shopping Our Stash is Blending In which means we want to see some form of ink blending on your project. I have done some ink blending but for this challenge I decided to do some You Tube surfing and found a Gina K video from World Cardmaking day 2020 and followed her step by step, now I much admit I only got the ink blending part done while she made full cards, the best part I had fun and got very inky with abandoned coral. (I used distress oxide inks)  Now I finished my card as Gina does with a white base, thin black layer under the image and I left the 1/2 inch border as she did and I really like how it looks, how's that for venturing out of my comfort zone?

The silhouette stamp I used is a pretty old one from Stampin'up, it stuck on the stamp positioner very tightly I cold stamp it 4 or 5 times to get the black image, unlike the Birthday stamp that moved and I couldn't re-stamp it to make it darker, it looks better IRL.

Closer look at the sentiment.

For the inside I used a scrap of the blended paper, a smaller stamp from the same stamp set from Stampin'up. The verse is from Fran's Cling Stamps at Stampendous.

Thanks for spending some time here today I hope you will try your hand at some ink blending and head over to the MAIN BLOG and check out what the rest of the design team have made to inspire you.

Time for a NEW challenge at Happy Little Stamper's Christmas.

Hello and welcome to thee Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge for July, I'm amazed at how fast the 4th of the month rolls around. I've made my first trip to stay at the cottage for the Canada Day long weekend, I do a lot of my crafting while I'm here and I keep doubles of a lot of items,  Although my card was made at home I decided to save picture taking until I could use the lake as the back drop. So let's get on to the challenge.

As always the challenge is Anything Goes which means if it's Christmas we want to see it but there is an optional twist: GOLD.

I haven't done a lot of heat embossing in eons so this was an adventure for me, I used a PSX (long retired company) Poinsettia stamp, it is so elegant just heat embossed in gold on vanilla, and layered on a Elizabeth Craft designs scalloped rectangle die cut.

Close up of the gold embossing, not as smooth as would like but my powders might be a tad old.

Finished the inside with a gold embossed sentiment and an off-cut from the scalloped frame.

Thanks for stopping by today and Gold or not we would like to see your Christmas card in the gallery.
