A Cardinal for May Rudolph Days!!

Hello crafty peeps! I finally got my card finished for Rudolph Days, I'm not as late as usual though. It's been a hectic week, first the Victoria day weekend I didn't go to the cottage until the Monday holiday as I had a major leak in the plumbing, I had water but not running in the cottage. I don't mind roughing it but I then found out because I had the phone disconnected I had no internet either. Plumber has been called internet provider has been called now it's a waiting game. This weekend I wasn't going down as for some reason we are back to "almost" winter (I caved and put the furnace back on)  The break will give me more time to organize my crafting supplies to take with me next trip.  On with my card.

The stamp I used is from Rubber Stampede and I'm sure I bought it at Michaels a long time ago, it's one of my favourite cardinal stamps, I made a 5 1/4 inch square vanilla base. The patterned paper is Cabin Fever from Carta Bella, and the plaid layer is a left over scrap from the Gnome slimline card. Both the image and the plaid are backed with a square die cut in red. The patterned paper is backed with a green layer. With scraps of red and green I added a poinsettia
Question, what is your opinion on the plaid and floral on the same card?

Close up of the main image.

Finished the inside with a wood block Hero Arts sentiment that has to be close to 20 years old, and a red off cut  and a small poinsettia.

Thanks for visiting today and have a crafty week. P.S. there is still time to get your card for the challenge done.

K is for Kraft-y

Another fantastic Lee Graphic

Hello family, friends and followers, a new challenge is on at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, K is for Kraft-y.  Kraft isn't really one of my go to colours but I think it looks great paired with Pink, Blue and Ridinghood Red, which is the combo I used for my Kraft-y card.

First I thought about the Hey Chick stampin' up set as it works well with Kraft cardstock and I knew since this is a Snarky Sister challenge I got my Gina Marie clear snarky chicken sentiments and that's when I saw this card design on Pinterest. The hen and one egg are popped up.

Close up of the sentiment, For the Kraft background I embossed it with honeycomb folder to look like chicken wire.

Angled view to show the raised fussy cut images, and they still have feet.

Thanks for stopping by today and head over to the MAIN BLOG to check out what the rest of the design team haves made.

Gnome Doubt About It!

Challenge #446 at Shopping Our Stash is Gnome doubt about it! ~~ use a Gnome or other Magical creature. Last year when gnomes were just becoming a "trend" I questioned why I didn't have any gnomes so one of my teamies sent me a couple and I figured it was time to shop my stash and use them on a card.

It is a slimline card 3.5 inches by 8.5 inches and fits in a business envelope. I used a inverted scalloped slimline die on some shiny red cardstock, the plaid patterned paper is double sided and I bought it last year at Stamp Art in London before we were in lock-down, I love plaid for Holiday cards. The film strip was made by cutting a tad larger than 2 inches and used the binding edge punch from Stampin'up which I haven't used in many years. Then using a small rectangle spellbinders die cut the openings and used a 2 X 8.25 white piece as a backing, sponged some ink and then fussy cut the two gnomes and my alpha dies were to large to add three HOs.

I love this vertical sentiment from Stampabilities dated 2005, I'm sure I've had it that long too. I added a strip of the patterned paper to finish the inside.  I try to finish the insides of all the Holiday cards that way there are no surprises come mailing time.

Has anyone any tips on how to photograph slimline cards, I really was in a dilemma trying. I even propped the Ott lamp up (dang it was hot too) They are too tall for my homemade photo booth. It will be nice to get to the cottage so I can use the lake as a backdrop (as long as it's not windy).

Thanks for stopping by today I hope you find time to get your magical creatures or gnomes out and enter the challenge, don't forget to head to the MAIN BLOG and check out what the rest of the design team have made.

A is for Animal ~~ Again.

There is still time to enter the challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers and as I said last Saturday I have another Two-Fer for you. Still using the note card fronts and embellishing them, a bit of colouring as I said last week it's shiny paper and there is no shading involved as it just disappears.

Traditional Black & White, now this one gave me giggles, although I have never had the reason go go on dates after children I'm sure it resonates with a few. Again I was practicing with the Nuvo drops so don't laugh.

Close up of the groupl

Typical male@@ I flat attached the image to the already made note card (bought a huge package at a yard sale) I thought the stitching pattern accented the outfit the cat was wearing. I added three enamel (plastic) dots I bought at Dollar Tree.

A close up of the kitty.

Thanks for stopping by today and  have a wonderful 24th of May holiday weekend.

Days Of Old....

Days of Old is the prompt for the challenge at the Jingle Belles Rock!!! it's time to make vintage cards, not only did I make a vintage card I used a vintage stamp from Stampa Rosa/PSX from 2003.

The image was stamped on Very Vanilla with Versafine Sepia, I decided to leave the background image with just the ink and colour the foliage and birds. The image was cut with Spellbinders Label 9 and flat attached to Fancy Labels 9 die cut.

The Hero Arts Sentiment was stamped on to a Fancy Labels 8 die cut (it didn't cut well so relegated it to the inside)  Don't like to waste cardstock.

I'm adding this to;

Jingle Belles Rock ~~ Days of Old

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

Here Fishy, Fishy

I'm doing a reminder post for the new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, I really dropped the "ball" last week when I didn't have a card made, I thought I still had a week, imagine my surprise when I found out I had missed posting a card.  So I still wanted to play along with the challenge so here is what I was planning to make.

The super sweet kitty I received as a gift and finally had a chance to put some ink on it, It is from Hunnymoon clear stamps. patterned paper is BoBunny that I bought at least 3 years ago at Scrapfest in Kitchener.  Cut with the original spellbinders large ovals. Sentiment was computer generated.

I thought it was right on track for the challenge, Here Fishy Fishy.

Finished the inside with Happy Birthday and a scrap of patterned paper.

You are My Besht Friend

Doesn't Edna look so jazzy in her animal print dress thanks Lee for the awesome grapic.

Time for a new Challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers....A is for Animal, I went a bit smaller with my animal and you get a two-fer!!!

Several years ago or longer I found a box of note cards at Winners for $5.99 and thought one day they would work for a challenge, there are 5 cards each of 4 designs. Because the paper is shiny it was a tad difficult to colour

Closer look at the image

As I said it's a two-fer so here is another of the cards that  I altered.

I guess the picture says it all,  I did some colouring on this one as well and added te nuvo drops (don't look too close I'm still a novice)

Close up of the image I think they look like I would if that was my icecream but it wouldn't be strawberry......it's Chocolate all the way.

O is for Outdoors...

For the next two weeks the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is heading for the Outdoors, at least that is allowed these days when so much is a No-No here in SWO.

Awesome graphics once again Lee!!

The image I used is from Artistic Impressions, the sentiment is from Creative Expressions, Wine Not. Embossing folder is a Cuttle Bug Distressed stripes.

I picked this image (BTW it's a NBUS I even had to take the paper off the back), because she looked like she was saying something snarky. I added paper glaze to the glasses and earring

Close up of the sentiment, it's an awesome clear set of 21 Wine related sentiments from Creative Expressions.

I'm sharing on:
