Under the Sun, Moon and Stars

A new challenge at Shopping Our Stash has started and for the next two weeks we would like to see the Sun, the Moon, the Stars one or all of them on a project.  I had an idea and made a background with some oxide inks. The die set I used is three pieces now I would have loved to use the village but I was afraid to mess up the whole card as I only had one background.

I'm still in the Christmas mode, I have had this die set for close to a year and never been used. The shepards were cut out of shimmer white and the star out of glitter paper although you can't see the sparkle. I also made this a "mail-able" card which I'm trying to do more often but is not easy.

Rummaging through my supply of sentiments I now realize I don't have any religious stamps so for the few I make and send I will have to print them off on the computer.  The sentiment is really old it's from the Artful Stamper when they were in London Ontario, at least 10 years ago. I also added a gold star for interest on the inside.

I'm entering this in a newlyA found challenge:

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

No, No, No more snow, it's been rather pleasant here in South Western Ontario, sunshine, clouds and the robins are back, (some stay all winter too) I saw a couple on my way to the neighbourhood mailbox.  Since I am honouring the stay at home I have more time to craft but of course it takes me just as long to make one card as it always did. I do miss the coffee bunch I have coffee with a couple of times a week, meetings have been suspended and my bowling on Fridays has been put on hold.  We just have to make the best of it.  So here is what I made today for Rudolph Days.

It wouldn't be Winter if I didn't make a card with this super cute trio of kitties from Bugaboo Stamps.  I flat attached the image to the front of the card in hopes that I can have cards that don't require "extra postage" when I mail them. The white layer was dry embossed with a Stampin'up folder Gently falling. (counts for ABC E is for embossing)

Close up of the adorable felines

Finished the inside with a Hero Arts sentiment (a prize from the Jingle Belles last year) and a strip of patterned paper left over from one of yesterday's cards and it matched the red perfectly.

You Better Watch Out......

Another quick post for the Jingle Belles Challenge Falalala, this time I used a Dr. Digi image called Naughty or Nice which brings me to the Holiday song I chose, You Better Watch Out. I thought this quite appropriate along with the die cut naughty or nice. (first time cutting it too.)

The image says it all, is your name on the list?

Close up of the main attraction.

Finished inside using scraps and a sentiment from a Holiday Cheer set from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps.  It's an online company from Southern Ontario not far from me. Super cute images and accessories.

Nice to see you so soon but stay tuned for more Holiday magic...Rudolph days are here.

It's A Marshmallow World.......................

Hello and finally I managed to squeeze in some time to make a card for the current Jingle Belles Rock challenge Falalala.  I wanted to do something different for this year's music challenge, you could use music paper, instrument, holiday song or lyrics, usually I make a card with my Penny Black caroling penguins and Joy to the World, this year I had a freebie image from Mel Jen's (no longer in business) it's a Marshmallow Snowman thus using the holiday song It's a Marshmallow World, are you singing the song now?

The snowman was coloured with spica glitter pens, fussy cut, flat attached at the bottom popped up at the top. I used a scrap of smooshed oxide ink background and the cloud was cut out of foam core.

Isn't he the most adorable snowman? I think so.

I thought it appropriate to use the sentiment I won last year from the Jingle Belles, I love this sentiment. I finished the bottom of the inside with a couple of leftovers from making the front.

K is for Kids at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

For the next fortnight its K is for Kids at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. Of course being a snarky bunch it's not all about the "kids". Have a look at what the rest of the Design Team have made you will be surprised.  I knew immediately I had to use a Dolly Mama stamp, I don't use them often and they are borderline snarky, almost subliminal so that being said here is what I made.

As I said a Dolly Mama stamp, coloured with copics and spica glitter pens, die cut with the spellbinders long rectangles. Patterned paper is from a Project life pad (like the smaller images on it) And the paper looks much better now that the birds are not on their heads.

Stamped an extra sign fussy cut it and popped it up.

finished the inside with one of my few vertical sentiments and some leftover paper.

Happy Birthday!!!

At Shopping Our Stash we are going to be helping you get that stash of Birthday cards done. Challenge #416 is Happy Birthday, that is self explanatory. I am always needing birthday cards, I quickly had to make one for my Great Grandson on Saturday, that's what happens if you don't have a stash.

Talk about shopping my stash, I found this super cute computer generated image already coloured in my "parts" box so just added some co-ordinating paper and voila' a birthday card for a little one.

Finished the inside with some scraps left over from the front and a very old long retired Birthday sentiment set from Stampin'up.

Your Birthday it is............

My great grandson's birthday was on Saturday and he is a star wars fan, believe it or not I have never seen a Star Wars movie. I started out to create a Darth Vader card but it just wasn't working out so I changed to Yoda and of course I was pressed for time since plan A didn't work. Because Yoda is greenish I accenteed with green.

The image was computer generated and Yoda is on a wobble. The background is a die cut with green meta;lic poster board (no longer available at Dollar Tree) my supply of  gold is dwindling but the other 4 colours are being hoarded.

After I coloured Yoda I fussy cut him out. and popped him up on a wobble.

Computer generated saying I found on pinterest andI personalized it for my great grandson.

Sticking along again with the Jingle Belles!!!

Well card #2  using stickers, I know I'm stressing myself going out of my comfort zone for the second day in a row, but I just had to use the super cute polar bear sticker that was in the Celebrate Winter set from Echo Park, (still stickers left for next year's challenge). It's a pretty close total case of one I found on Pinterest, my only way to design with stickers.

4 stickers were used on this case, but that polar bear was just too cute not to use on a card. I am feeling a bit better with this one, it doesn't make me feel like I used stickers creatively.

l

The stamp didn't ink properly, or the stamper was in err, but I had a "duh" moment when I put glue on the white cardstock BEFORE I put it in the stamp positioner so I had to glue it inside which made it impossible to use the proper tool.

I'm Sticking with the Jingle Belles today

Hello again, as most of you know I'm "sticker" challenged,  when I make a card with a sticker that's exactly what it looks like, that I stuck a sticker on a piece of cardstock. Well last April I bought a package of Winter patterned paper from Echo Park and it contains stickers, so I went to pinterest to scout out how to make something with the paper and stickers so this is what I came up with almost totally casing one of the cards.

The paper is from Echo Park and is called Celebrate Winder. I think you call the sentiment a journal card? I cut it with Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched rectangles and the EC designs scalloped rectangles. Popped the sentiment up and added the skaters directly on it.

Close up of the skaters.

I haven't finished the inside but there are larger sentiment cards in the package too I might just add one of them to the inside.

I am even a whole day early for the challenge this time, but I might put myself out of my comfort zone tomorrow and try to get a second one finished. Thanks for stopping by today and have a great week.

B is for Booze at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.

Another perfect Graphic from Sistah Lee.

For this fortnight we want you make us some "drinks", there are a lot of choices here as you can see by the above graphic, I like the blue on with the umbrella.  I decided to go with Stella from Bugaboo Stamps, whenever there is a challenge that needs sass she is my go to lady.

I was sorta close on colouring the vodka bottles to look like Grey Goose Vodka and it was purely an accident. Since my spica glitter pens were still out I used them and copics to colour Stella up. I did a lot of layering (no CAS genes here) a lot of scraps were used, no full sized sheets were sacrificed in the making of this card.

A closer look at the sentiment, which I'm sure is true.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team have created every one of them was in the ZONE for this challenge, just click HERE.

It's time for March's ATC Challenge at Happy Little Stampers!!

Welcome friends, family and followers to my third set of Artist Trading cards/coins for the Happy Little Stampers and the challenge is Critters.

This month I made ATCoins, I love making them and I have sooooo many critter stamps that I could use but I used a favourite (no not house mouse) it's Fluffles.

Sorry for the dark picture it is not easy to take pictures, although it was very bright today I just couldn't get the best picture and they are round,  that is a dark shadow.
These are only 4 of the Fluffles stamps I have but they were the best for grouping together.

Flluffles and the lady bugs
I coloured with Spica Glitter pens cut the image with Elizabeth Craft designs stitched circles.

Another favourite Fluffless with the grasshoppers also coloured with Spica glitter pens and copic markers and cut with the same stitched die.

I made Fluffles in the hat box into a red hat Fluffles, I picked this stamp up eons ago in the U.S. on a clearance shelf. I also coloured this with the glitter pens and copics.

Top 'o the morning to you!! another clearance purchase and it's one of two St. Patrick's day stamps. Coloured again with spica glitter pens and copics.

You have now reached the end of a long blog post congratulations!!!
All my Fluffles stamps are wood mount and have been discontinued from Stampendous but look for them now in you craft store in Clear Minis (I have seen them)

Is It Summer Yet???????

After the Winter Blues Shopping Our Stash is wondering if it's SUMMER yet?  For this fortnight we want to see you use something summer/bright and cheery/warm on your project.  Since I make Christmas/Winter cards all year long it's really hard to switch gears to make a summer card but with the help of my dear friend Maxwell I got it together.

Of course I used a stamp from my favourite company, House Mouse Designs,  The patterned paper is from a DCWV 4 1/2 X 6 pack I have had so long I have no idea when or where I bought it, it's probably somewhere 5 to 10 years old. I have 7 different packs for all occasions even Halloween.

I added several coats of wink of stella to the beach ball to give it  some sparkle.

The inside just waiting for a sentiment, I decided to leave it "generic" although I usually send more Birthday cards.

I'm adding this to:

Thanks for visiting today, head over to the main blog and see what "summer" creations the rest of the design team has made.

It's Christmas Cheer at Christmas Kickstart Challenge (aka alcohol)

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers are Guest Elves at Christmas Kickstart Challenge All the elves are making there snarkiest alcohol laden projects and I am no exception. I scrolled through all my Bugaboo images on the computer and picked JJ for my card.

I colouored JJ up in sparkle and used an ancient spellbinders die set I have used for eons. The sentiment was found and was computer generated.

Computer generated sentiment I found on "google"

Finished the inside with a holiday sentiment and when it was finished I found a better one, oh well.

Head over to the main Christmas Kickstart Blog to see what the rest of the "elves" have made.
