Shopping Our Stash #296 ~~ Side By Side

Have you ever tried a "step card" that is what the team at Shopping Our Stash wants you to make!!! So many different styles of step cards, Right step, left step, center step, circle step and even a double step card, you can find tutorials for them all.  I prefer a tall center step card but made a left side step one, but who knows I might find time to squeeze one in but you will only know when you reach the bottom of the post.

I really was surprised when I did my fold that my steps were on the left but that's okay, loved it. I had coloured this Bugaboo image over a week ago (thought the side by side challenge was last week) I did it in my favourite colours pink and purple, The base was the only full size piece I cut all the rest were scraps, the grass and bunnies were also scraps. The patterned paper is from a pack I've had a couple of years.

Adorable image, she is so cute.

Closer look at the steps.

Sentiment on the back of the card.

Thanks for visiting today and we are looking forward to seeing what kind of step card you make for the challenge. Head over to the main blog, check out the rules and see what the rest of the team have made.

Baby Train........

I'm going to be a Great Grandma in June!!! so for my project today I made a generic baby shower card with the cutest baby animal brads from the Eyelet Outlet . There are new Spring brads in the store now and lots more to look at.

I used a generic train die and it came with animals on it but I snipped them off and added the super cute baby animal brads. The wheels looked a tad plain so I added sticky back enamel dots also from the Eyelet Outlet store.

Close up of the Hippo and Giraffe along with the dots and a strip of skinny glitter washi tape to replicate a train track.

Close up of the Elephant and the Lion.

Couldn't resist adding a quartet of shiny yellow heart enamel dots.

Finished the inside with a quote I found on the internet.

Accessories from the Eyelet Outlet & Brads Store I used you can find these and lots more at the store.

Have an awesome day!!!

What Does the Fox Say?

Shopping Our Stash #295 is Forest Friends ~~ we want to see deer, fox, bear, birds, fish, beaver etc. Lots and lots of choice of animals to use, you might even find one that isn't listed.  I really dove deep in my stash for this one. The image was already coloured and it was so long ago it was before copics so it is done with prisma colour pencils and odourless mineral spirits. When I say dove I really mean it I had to search through several boxes of images I had stashed.

Along with the super cute fox from Imaginese snag 'em stamps bought ages ago from who knows where (not me) the grass is left over from the Bunny basket, the cloud and sun were leftovers from the "lawn ranger" even the base was in my scrap box.

I fussy cut and elevated the super cute fox

Finished the inside with a die cut Birthday greeting, I really can't take credit for the sentiment as I saw a super cute fox card on Splitcoast Stampers and decided to "borrow" the idea which brings the whole Fox concept together and will make a great Masculine card.

Thanks for dropping in today, I hope you get some time this week to create a Forest Friends project and enter the challenge at the main Blog while you are there please check out what the other design team members have hunted up for the challenge.

Q is for Queen at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers!!!

Okay this is embarrassing......I started my blog post Friday before I went bowling and when I got home I forgot to finish it.  Note to self "do not trust your memory anymore"

Challenge #80 at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is Q is for Queen or you can make a Mother's Day project. I chose the latter.

This super cute image is from Bugaboo Stamps the sentiment comes with it too.
Coloured wth alcohol markers and cut with an Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched oval die and flat attached to the base. The sentiment is elevated.

Such a cute face.

And now....wait for it....a bit of snark.

There you are, that was the sentiment that popped in my head when I saw the digi and I sure didn't want to disappoint the "snarky sisters" since they all delivered with this challenge....go check the main blog and see what they have done.

Thanks for stopping and get your crown on and design something for us at SoSS!!!

A Turtle Story

Hello again, I can go a whole week and not post then I have three in less than two days but I just had to show you the Birthday card I made for my great grandson for his 8th birthday on Tuesday. Here is the card......

I saw a tutorial on Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie for this card I don't think I have used my envelope punch board in two years and this gave it a work out, also the embossing folder had never been  out of it's package, score #2 my biggest problem was the turtle head but I found an ornament die that worked perfect, it too had never been used, now on with my story.

Katie my granddaughter in law is expecting a baby (we are excited) she went for an ultrasound and was hoping to find out boy or girl, the baby didn't co-operate but William said he didn't care what it was as long as it was a TURTLE.  I knew then I just had to make a turtle card.

finished with a favourite sentiment.

While I had the envelope punch-board out I made the envelope  and added his name to the front.

Thanks for looking today have a wonderful rest of the week.

Luck O' the Irish is Challenge 294 at Shopping Our Stash!!!

Shopping Our Stash wants to see GREEN and it doesn't have to be St. Patrick's Day!!! I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the challenge....so dug out my Art Impressions Lawn Ranger, he hasn't been inked in about 1 1/2 years, since I made a card for Hubby for his birthday.  I keep telling myself it doesn't take a lot more time to make TWO cards with the same image and then you have a stash so I listened and made two.

I fussy cut the lawn ranger but everthing else is punches or die cuts. The image and clouds are popped up.

Finished inside

Here is the second one, not a whole lot of differnce in them.

boy that grass is sure long.

One of the first sentiments I bought when I started stamping

Stash busting......stamp, sentiment, "sun" punch, and the picket fence punch, don't remember the last time I used any of them.

Thanks  for visiting today and head over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the design team have made for the challenge.

Easter Bunny Basket

Happy Tuesday, Barbara here with a super cute Easter basket that is quick and easy. I followed a tutorial from Split Coast Stampers, the video was very easy to follow step by step. This basket is for my great grandson who will be 8 by Easter.

It is 1 1/2 inches deep 1 1/2 inches wide and about 5 inches long, just big enough for the golden bunny from Lindt and a few foil eggs.

I just had to use some more of those adorable chocolate bunny brands from Eyelet Outlet.

I used a bunny brad on each end to secure the handle, I die cut some grass and attached it around the whole basket and secured it with the most adorable bunny washi tape from the Eyelet outlet. I'm sure I could make a lot of baskets with the amount of washi tape on that roll.

Here is the picture of the handle of the basket, I used more bunny washi tape on it. I love that the polka dot pattern shows through.

this is one of the many designs in the store.

Check out the Eyelet Outlet and Brad store there are brads, eyelets, flowers, washi tape and much much more for any occasion you are creating something for. don't forget to look for the daily special.

Thanks for stopping by.

Shopping Our Stash #294 ~~ All it's Cracked Up to Be!!!

Shopping Our Stash is challenging you to use a crackle technique. Now I have been challenged!!! There are a lot of videos and none helped me with my project, you see I had a plan and nothing was swaying me from that plan!! After three days and as many false starts it finally came together.

I must quit surfing Pinterest, that is where I saw the crackle frame and knew I wanted to try to replicate it. I think it worked out well. Although I have used the Poppy Stamps Madison large frame many times the window box has never been used. I hope you can see the two white kitties looking out at the visitor. I had some nylon netting to use for curtains and I added a scrap of flowered paper for the inside wall.

I had some scraps of grass left over from an Easter project so I just  added a few flowers and put those super cute pearls from Eyelet Outlet for the centers, they come in all colours and in rhinestones as well, 5 long strips of 100 in a package.

Here is the very fine crackle that the Deco Art crackle medium made.

Stash I used:
Deco Art crackle medium
Gesso
Acrylic paint (left over from tole painting classes)
Poppy Stamps Large window box at least 3 years without using
All the cardstock was from my scraps box even the card base.

Well with that all said we are looking forward to see your "crackle technique" project. Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful week.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge #79 ~~ G is for Green (with envy)

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge is Green with Envy ~~ you can make a St. Patrick's day card, or just use green, snark is welcome although mine isn't at all snarky this time. I had a request for a St. Patrick's Day Birthday card and thought woohoo I can kill two "birds" with one stone.  Here is my take on Green with envy.

You might recognize this image as a Mel Jen's Christmas Elf but I thought it would adapt really well to a cute little leprechaun just traded the stocking cap for a top hat. The background paper is some digi paper I found on pinterest and I added some gold sequins for gold coins.

Close up

Finished inside.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope to see your project on our SoSS challenge blog.

I used one of the super cute Easter saying brads, there are 4 different sayings in the package of 12 and they can be found HERE

Close up of the left facing super cute bunny. I also wanted to hide some eggs in the grass so I used Glitter enamel dots in pink, you can find them HERE. they were the perfect size to hide in the grass.
