Almost Late Again for a Challenge ~~~

Since before Christmas I have had a Lacy Sunshine image coloured and been sitting in my scrap pile along with the card stock to create it but as always other things took precedence but last Monday I saw the perfect sketch on Mojo Monday and I had some time to-day to put it together.

I loved the sketch because of the banners, I really wanted to use my banner dies and I did.

Sliding in at almost the last day with my second card for the Jingle Belles Challenge.

At least I didn't miss keeping up with my Holiday Cards, I managed two for the Jingle Belles. I had planned one for each week but that didn't happen. I used the same theme as I had extra deer already cut and the circles cut as well. The reason behind all the deer is ~~ I was making an easel card and thought I needed three sets of deer and I only needed one so that's a joke on me. lol.

I embossed the background with the softly falling embossing folder from Stampin' up

Finished the inside with a scrap from the scrapbox and my newest favourite sentiment

I would like to enter this in

Jingle Belles challenge O'Christmas tree.

Thanks for stopping by today, even though this challenge is over Wednesday evening there will be a new challenge on Friday.

Shopping Our Stash challenge #236 ~~ Inspired by a Book

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post? Scroll down or click HERE.

Have you read any good books lately? You are in a good place to join Shopping Our Stash for the newest challenge, Inspired by a Book. I haven't done a lot of reading in the last couple of years, the last book I read was (keep it under your hat) 50 shades of grey, but I already did a challenge for that one. What a time I had picking a book and I took the easy route and chose "The Little Mermaid" as I had a freebie image from Sassy Studio design Facebook page. So here is what I made.

First I coloured the image with Yellow Rose, Sunflower and Persimmon twinkling H2os and fussy cut her out, I had a scrap of shimmery grey I thought would be a great rock for her to sit on. Next on to the background, I'm not sure if the technique has a name but I scribbled blue and green copic markers on a huge plastic bag, spritzed it with rubbing alcohol and put the shiny cardstock on it, the rhinestones were left overs from "My Precious" challenge card and the butterfly was sitting on my table.

close-up of the image and the background.

I was in a hurry and didn't stamp the sentiment on the inside, but it's ready for one.

Thanks for visiting today and don't forget when you enter the Inspired by a Book challenge remember to tell us what book, not all will be as obvious as mine LOL. Check out the rules at the main blog and while there check out what the rest of the Design Team have been inspired by.

When the Jingle Belles challenge was posted on January 15th I though I can do this one, then on January 22nd the reminder was posted and I hadn't made my tree card yet and I promised myself to try to make one each week so I didn't end up doing a scramble to finish cards in December,  I had scraps and diecuts sitting so I worked on two cards today. Here is my "O'Christmas tree.

I embossed the background and spritzed it with glimmer mist I had the deer cut already so I just had to cut a few trees.

Welcome back for a NEW challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers

Challenge #51 at SoSS is T is for Technique you can try a  new Technique or use a Favourite one.  I decided to try a new technique and it was fun!!! Watercolour Smooshing!!!

Since I wanted the technique to be the "star" I kept it pretty simple with a memory box anchor die cut some blue and white bakers twine and a simple Happy Birthday.

I used three shades blue distress inks and one green (peeled paint)  it was very simple, a bit messy but so much fun. I put each of the inks separately on an acrylic block spritzed with water then applied it to the water colour paper.

Stamped the sentiment directly on the patterned paper then added another anchor die cut.

Thanks for visiting today and sure do hope you will join the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for T is for Technique I would love to see what you can do.

Think Spring!!!

Well that is what  I must have been thinking when I started creating my card, bright colours, flowers, grasshoppers and butterflies.  I saw the sketch  on Mojo Monday, printed it and then set it aside until I could create which of course was Saturday.  I've been in most of the week with a cold and the weather has been so up and down, it snowed two days earlier in the week then the temp. went up and it rained now back to snowing no wonder people get sick. Well enough whining ~~ here is my card.

I keep looking at my card and think "did I make this"

I used one of my super cute Fluffles stamps of course Fluffles is no longer being made.

finished inside with some words of wisdom

Something New ~~ A New Challenge at Shopping Our Stash

Looking for my Clear it Out post scroll down or click HERE.

Wow Shopping Our Stash is having a challenge to use something that is new, something you might have gotten for Christmas or found at a discount or something you just had to have. Before Christmas I had a chance to get to Michael's art store and they were having a 60% off sale on seasonal items. I picked up doilies , some glitter cardstock and a Hero Arts stamp. I'm so happy to be able to use it for this challenge.

I inked the stamp with Night of Navy from Stampin'up and stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock, I spritzed it with some glimmer mist and it really sparkles IRL. The image layered on Night of Navy cardstock and popped up on shimmer cardstock embossed with the new gently falling embossing folder from Stampin'up.

I was hoping this shows the shimmer

Finished inside.

Keeping up with a Holiday/Christmas stash I am entering this in:

Jingle Belles Rock Use something Old and something new. Stamp & embossing folder new, lace and ribbon is ancient.

Thanks for stopping by today and we would love to see what you have that is NEW.

It's Catch the Bug Bingo!!!

Saturday's post from Catch the Bug was the January B I N G O, you have a lot of choices for your bingo line. Mine was the middle horizontal line, Button, Snowflake and Blue. I printed the super cute Friday Freebie a while back, it is so cute but I always seem have more ideas than I have time for.  Sunday the weather was not very nice, snow and blowing snow and cold I just wanted to stay in and get some crafty time in ~~ so that is what I did.

I made the card 5 X 5,  put stickles on her hair band, white opal liquid pearls on the marshmallows.

Challenge #50 At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is ~~ O is for Old......make a funny card.

Welcome to the first challenge of 2016 at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers, this challenge we want you to make an "old" funny card, it's the easiest to add some snark to. Mine has snarky on the outside and snark on the inside. All stamps are from Art Impressions and they are one of the best places to get some really funny images.

So many options for a sentiment on this image

I agree with this advice too.

and now for the inside snark........

Thanks for stopping by today to see what I have been busy making. Don't forget to head over to the SoSS blog to read the rules and see what the rest of the design team have made for the "old" challenge.

Working on my Winter Card Stash the Merry Monday way...............

First I saw the sketch at Tuesday morning Sketches and I loved it, of course as I said I was going to work on Christmas/Winter cards all year I spotted the Merry Monday challenge of White on White, well since I've made a few with that colour challenge I wanted to try one again. I bought the Gently Falling embossing folder from Stampin'up before Christmas but hadn't used it and knew it was perfect for the sketch. So here is my card and I will explain how it was done.

I love this snowglobe die from Impression Obsession, I think I have had it for two years and just started to use it. The trees and deer are also from impression obsession and they fit perfect on the circle. I used three different whites on this card. The snowflakes (IO) deer, trees and base are shimmer paper, The snow globe circle is some swirled shimmer paper years old and this might be the last piece. The card base and softly falling embossed layer are plain white from Michaels.

Close up of the snowglobe scene.

Using a tip about putting recipe cards for the inside (thanks Tracy) I cut the card with the Top Note so I can write a personal message on it. The little snowman was a leftover die cut that was just sitting on the table.
