Challenge #119 at The Cheerful Stamp Pad is ~~ Remembering Summer

Happy Friday!! are you looking forward to the weekend? You can tell fall is in the air as all the Fall Fairs are in full swing. I entered some cards at our local fair which is this week.  Little Blue Button Stamps is the sponsor for the challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.  We were given some cute images to play with and they also have freebies on  the blog. I used a free image from the blog, it certainly looked like she is remembering Summer. I chose pink tones for my card as for me that is a summer colour. My friend Jessi was the sketch designer at Tuesday Morning sketches and I thought it would work for my image although my focal point was a circle, here is what I did for the challenge.

Isn't she just the perfect "remembering" picture? The sentiment I used is the summer stamp of a set of four seasons stamps from Hero Arts, they are probably discontinued as they are over 10 years old.

Close up of the lovely image.

Thanks for stopping by today and I would love to see how you Remember Summer.

Shopping Our Stash has a NEW Challenge ~~ #216 Splish-Splash

Shopping Our Stash  has a dandy challenge this week, Splish Splash use a wet mediumwatercolor, acrylic paint, distress inks. I haven't dabbled in this area much and of course I had all my equipment for the technique I chose in a super cute basket and left it home I was not a happy cottager, to top it off when I looked for my glasses they must be home safe and sound on my desk. I only need them for very fine print and crafting. Darned good job I didn't have a lot to do this weekend. After all that whining here is my offering for the Splish Splash challenge.

I had three shades of blue distress ink pads and some water colour paper, since the craft mat was in the basket I used wax paper and smooshed the three colours on it spritzed with water and dragged the watercolour paper through it.  I stamped just the deck chair and grass with the darkest of the blues, it sort of looks like the fog is coming in off the lake, I coloured the grass with a green copic, then added the three hand drawn birds.,

Since the only baker's twine I have at the cottage is purple, I just made a reef knot out of some cotton yarn I have been making dish cloths out of.

Close up of the birds and the three faux brads I made, I punched 9 dots with the hand punch glued three to a stack and covered it with paper glaze. Not perfect but they do their job.

Thanks for popping by today and checking my blog. Don't forget to check out the rules and see what the rest of the DT have gotten wet with, just click HERE.

New week New challenge at SoSS ~~~ I is for Image only

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is back again with a new challenge ~~ I is for Image only!!! Easy Peasy I make them a lot, sometimes because there is no room for a sentiment on the front sometimes 'cause I haven't decided what it will be, Birthday, get well or just a Hello there card.  I use my new stamp set I bought last month at The Butterfly Moon, it is from Art Impressions, I have a few of their funny stamps and use them quite a bit.

You can almost hear the "snark"

I used a lot of leftovers on this card, the frame was not suitable for another project and the ovals were left over too just sitting on my craft table.

I fussy cut both images and this one I mounted on a wobble so when you open the card it moves. I mounted it on the second of the shimmer ovals.

Inside of the card

and the bit of snark, 'cause that's how we roll at SoSS

Thanks for checking out my blog today and check out what the rest of the design team had done for the I is for Image challenge.

Week 2 of Challenge #118 ~~ Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday!!! another week has gone by and The Cheerful Stamp Pad is still celebrating Birthdays for challenge #118.  Little Blue Button Stamps is the sponsor for this challenge and we were given some really cute images,  I went to the store and found some freebies, the one I used is the July free image and was so excited as it is a fabulous image for a girl friend.

As you see I'm doing all my crafting at the lake and I use what every I have brought and I always hope I have the "right stuff" I love this frame it has 4 parts to it and you cut them all at once which leaves leftovers for other projects. Besides the frame there is a rectangle with an oval cut out of it and a small oval and when you see the inside of the card, a very narrow frame.  I love lime green and blue together so coloured the girls with copics and put them in the frame.

Now doesn't that thin frame look awesome around the sentiment, it's very flimsy and a chore to glue it in place but so worth the effort.

Thanks for checking out my blog today, don't forget you have until Thursday to enter your project at The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

Shopping Our Stash #215 ~~ Layer it On Me!!

Looking for my Clear it Out Tuesday post? scroll down or click HERE.

Are you in the midst of a heat-wave? Is the humidity unbearable? Well it sure is here in SWO (south western Ontario), I am even thinking of taking a dip in the lake today.  Of course with the weather the challenge at Shopping Our Stash seems out of place, we sure want to "take it off" but the challenge is Layer it on Me!!! use lots of layers,  Head over to the main blog check out the rules for entering and see what the rest of the design team have for your inspiration.

As you see the shadows were long when I took the picture, the best time is between 1 and 3 but I'm not always ready. I have recently discovered Sweet Sunday Sketch Blog  and since I seem to craft on Sunday it works well for me. The image I used is from Sami Stamps the patterned papers are from Walmart. I made the candy dots last week and having fun using them.

Close up of the image and the dots.

Inside of the card, the sentiment is from an acrylic set I bought at the dollar store for $2.

Back to School is the Theme ~~ Stationery items are the Stash!!!

Clear it Out Tuesday is going back to school!!! at least for this week's challenge, the stash item is stationery things, paperclips, paper fasteners, staples.  Well I have no one going back to school and I had very little in my digi stash for the sponsor this week so I had to stretch your and my imagination. The sponsors for the challenge are Di's Digis, Digital Delights and Sweet Pea stamps.  I chose a digi by Charity Dauenhauer called Faithful companion. BTW I love fairies.

I made a 5 1/4 inch square easel card, I saw the design in a card maker magazine that was picked up for me at  a yardsale by a friend. It looked like the fairy was dreaming about starting fairy school in September. The paperclips I used were from Walmart stationery dept.(there are more in the package than I will need for a lifetime).  That is the story of my back to school offering for the challenge.

Here is the card when it is closed for mailing.

Thanks for joining me today and I'm looking forward to some fabulous back to school project. Check out the rules for entering HERE and see what the rest of the team has made.

It's Birthday time with the Cheerful Stamp Pad for Challenge #118

Wow another two weeks has flown by again, can you believe it is half way through August. This fortnight there is a new challenge at The Cheerful Stamp Pad it's "Birthday" well that's so easy we all need to have some extra birthday cards in our stash for those almost forgotten dates. The sponsor for the challenge is Little Blue Button Stamps and have been generous with some images for us to use. I chose Sophie with Flower for the first week of the challenge.

I checked out Mojo Monday  for their new sketch on Monday and it was like it was made for this super sweet image.

Close up of Sophie (isn't she sweet)

I loosely carried the sketch to the inside and now it's ready for sending

Shopping Our Stash #214 ~~~ Make a Spectacle of Yourself

Looking for my Clear it Out Post scroll down or click HERE.

The Shopping Our Stash challenge this week is Make a spectacle of yourself which translates to use paper or stamps with glasses on it,. Now it seems easier doesn't it, well not for me I'm totally lost as I had nothing to do with glasses, Pinterest to the rescue ~~~ I found some free download paper with glasses on it and that was a start, then the light-bulb moment happened and I have the cutest Lacy Sunshine image called Eleanor who has the largest glasses ever (well we all had them 15 years ago didn't we). Here is what I have made for the challenge, in one of my least favourite colours.

I have combined this sweet image with the Sweet Sunday sketch #281

Just to show how I blinged her glasses up. (sorry for the out of focus picture)

The inside using a scrap of the same glasses paper and a simple sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and would love to see your take on the "spectacle" challenge.

Do you like a Colour Challenge? Well if you do Clear it Out Tuesday's challenge is for you!!!

Wow the second week of August already, where does the time go? I hope you are having an awesome summer. This week at Clear it Out Tuesday it's a colour challenge and the colour is Brown/Kraft and the stash item is the same. The sponsor for the challenge is Sami Stamps there are some super cute images in the store.

I didn't have any kraft cardstock so I used Early Expresso and a light coral (name eludes me) I used an Impression Obsession die to cut the frame, it includes the oval as well and you will see the rest of the cut on the inside. I fussy cut the flower and butterfly and popped the butterfly up.

Early Expresso seam binding bow which is my stash item.

I used a very thin piece of cardstock for the antenna

Hero Arts stamp Flowers say Hello

Thanks for stopping by today and let's see your take on the colour challenge.

U is for Ugly ~~ Ugly Paper that is

I don't know where our leader get's all these ideas from but this one is a doozy, Dig out the ugliest paper you have in your stash and make us at card for the Challenge at The Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers.  I must admit I was very challenged with this one as my planning didn't include ugly paper or anything that matched, I must get better at packing for the challenges I plan on creating while at our cottage.  I am very pleased I did manage to get a week ahead on most of them.

You know that paper looks much uglier IRL, what ticked me was I have a stamp at home that would match the paper,  I used an old Hero Arts Stamp and the sketch from Stella Says Sketch,.

Here is a closer look at the paper and my newest project ~~ making the candy dots. I bought a toaster oven at a yard sale a few years ago to do crafts with but until today it was the first time I used it. Since I was at the cottage I put it outside on a tall table hubby made (perfect height) right in front of the electrical outlet that way I didn't stink up the cottage as the plastic melted.

Challenge #117 Anything Goes continues................

The Cheerful Stamp Pad's Anything Goes challenge #117 continues with the Sponsor Little Blue Button Stamps. This time I used an adorable digi from our sponsor, a little girl hugging a cupcake. I also used my favourite colour......Purple.

I was given an old crafting book and found this cute sketch that worked perfect for my image, I even got to use my sewing machine on it. The card is 5 1/4 inches square.

The sentiment is from Printworks, one of my collection of 3.

Thanks for stopping by today and have an awesome weekend!!!

Show Us Your Snark!!!

Shopping Our Stash has joined forces with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers for a SNARKY challenge. So what it means is when you get your `show us your snark`project done you can put it on both challenges....it`s a `two-fer``. Don't forget to read until the end as there is a second card.

I have a few Dolly Mama stamps it was hard to choose which to use, well it was chosen for me, I packed two of the stamps to bring to the cottage and imagine my surprise when I realized the one was not the one I had planned on but it was a happy accident as I liked this one better.

And here is my snark|||

I added some of the patterned paper to the top note and I used the swiss cheese border punch, it still needs a sentiment just wasn`t sure which one.

Since this is a crossover challenge I have made a card for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers (what better challenge for them) I used another Dolly Mama just love their little tongue in cheek snarky notes.

I used the brand new sketch challenge at The Crooked Stamper, it worked perfect for the tall skinny image,.

And here is the Snark!!!

Well it's a little out of focus but  was trying to keep the card and the holder from blowing to the ground, it's a tad breezy here today.

challenges I'm entering:

Thanks for stopping by today and since we have a two-fer you can post your card on both challenge blogs.

It's Tuesday and time for a NEW Challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday!!!

It's your favourite challenge at Clear it Out Tuesday ~~~ Anything goes and the stash item is the same Anything goes. We got to use one of our favourite digis for this challenge. I chose Bugaboo Stamps and picked a girl with flowers. This image works really well with a tall A2 center step card.

Since I am back at the cottage for the Civic holiday weekend  and staying until Thursday I hadn't planned my crafting well but wonder of wonders I had enough "stuff" to get this card done, I must have anticipated making a step card as I brought my fiskers cutting tool which is needed to make the cuts for this technique.
