Tic…Toc…Tic…Toc…Challenge #20

What a cute challenge I found here at Crop Stop, it was to make an Artist Trading Card (ATC) with a clock on it.  ATCs are 2 1/2 inches X 3 1/2 inches, mine is made with Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstock stamped and sponged with Versafine Sepia ink, the stamp set I used is a retired set from Stampin’ up called It’s About Time.

ADFD Mucha Style Flowers & Challenge

I had a couple of challenges planned for this week but a few things got in my way of getting them finished until today. There was a sketch and a free digi stamp to use for challenge #18 found here at A Day For Daisies found here. The colours I used were Peach Parfait and Tangerine Tango, the dp was from an Asian stack pad  I found at Winners. I coloured the digi stamp with pencil crayons and oms. I used the “Cracked Glass” technique, I also made the faux brads by punching chocolate chip card stock and putting paper glaze on them.

Thanks for stopping  by  and I hope I inspire you too try  a new technique  next time you get creative.

A May 24th Birthday Card

Another cute Dolly Mama stamp called Big Girl Panties, I love these ladies with the signs. I made this card for my daughter’s birthday which is today. We went to a favourite Thai restaurant called the Banana Leaf here in Woodstock, ON. They make excellent food,
The colours I used are Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip, the dsp was a gift from one of my fabulous Stamp in Canada ladies. I really like to see pink and brown together.the shopping bag saying was covered with paper glaze.

From the cottage…….

I thought I would post a few cards I made last week, unfortunately they are three sympathy cards that I have to send out after the weekend. Although these are sympathy cards the designs can be used for a lot of different  occasions.
                  Sympathy card
Simple card done in black & white. The background is embossed with the Birds and Swirls folder.
                 Sympathy card
Embossed with a folder from Stampin-up. the center of the flowers were inked with a silver pen. I punched the butterfly in both purple and vellum.
               Sympathy card (2)
I used the tulip embossing folder on Baja Breeze, the image is also stamped in Baja Breeze, the accent colour is Early Expresso.
Sympathy cards are the most difficult ones for me to make but I hope they  give some comfort to the recipients.
Thanks for stopping by and come back soon some happier cards to come next week.

ATC Steam punk Swap

At Stamp in Canada there was a swap hosted by Catwoman, there were 7 that joined the swap, most have never done ATCs before so it was an experience. I love the image I used,  it has a ‘40’s feel about it, the stamp is from Stampabilities called See the World. ATC is short for Artist Trading Cards, these are 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 inches, usually they have a theme and are numbered.  Here is my ATC I made for the swap.
                                          Steam punk ATC swap
I coloured with pencil crayons and oms, the fibres were eyelash yarn from a stash and the key I used versamark watermark and embossed it in copper penny,. I also made an envelope to go with it.
Here are the other 6 cards from the swap

Double Fold Birthday

I found this tutorial at Lynn’s Place here, it was a a challenge to do, I’m hoping if there is a second time it goes easier. I have a bit of a :”stash of coloured images and the image I wanted to use was perfect for the paper in the tutorial and I had some. How cool was that. The butterfly on the card was made with one of the first stamps I bought, it is Vanessa Butterfly from Hero Arts. I coloured the butterfly and coated it with December Sky Shimmerz. The image is Tilda from Magnolia stamps, coloured with pencil crayons and oms, yellow stickles on the flowers.

Pages in Time on-line Crop

Last weekend Pages in Time had an on-line crop, it was a fun weekend lots of challenges and games. The first challenge was a distress challenge. Now those who know me know I am not happy “roughing” up a card but it was a challenge so I distressed everything on the card, first was the background which I used the distressed stripes cuttlebug folder. The image was distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink, the edges of the layer were roughed up with a pair of scissors. I made the nautical knot from a tutorial found here.

The second card I made for the “hide and seek” challenge, we were given hints to where the digi image was hidden and when it was found we made a card with it making sure there was some stitching on it. I made a 4 1/4 square easel card and used my sewing machine to add the feather stitch around the image layer.

The next challenge was to make a tag, an image was posted that we could use for the challenge. The tag had to be distressed, have a stamped image, a hand made flower, stickles, chipboard and the word Leisure somewhere on the tag. This little tag took me several hours to complete.

The final challenge I did was a colour challenge the picture was  predominately turquoise and peach. I loved these colours together. The image I used was a dolly mama’s by Joey, Inc. the designer paper was from an Asian mat stack I picked up at Winners last year.
